A card holder looks like a trifle, yet it does two jobs at once: it protects what is inside and offers a small surface for information. In a hotel that means the room key card, elsewhere a loyalty card, a pass or a disc handed to a client.
What is worth putting on it
- The name and logo of the venue, still readable once the card is inside.
- The reception number and address - what guests look for most often.
- Breakfast hours, spa access or other fixed points of the day.
- A short pointer to a website or a map of the area, for example through a QR code.
Order matters here too. Whatever the guest checks most often belongs on the side they see when the holder comes out of a pocket. The rest can sit comfortably on the other face.
Planning the content
There is little room, so choosing beats cramming. One side for practical information and the other for the look of the place works well. Leave some empty space, because a holder covered in text becomes hard to read. If details change with the season, give the fixed points and point elsewhere for the rest.
Not only hotels
The same format works beyond hospitality: a holder for a loyalty card, for a studio pass, for a disc with materials for a client. In each case it tidies up what you hand over and stays with the recipient longer than an ordinary leaflet. If you are planning materials for guests or clients, plan it together with the rest of your print.
