EB-15 COLOUR - a colour accent, full-colour print

The EB-15 COLOUR is the most distinctive version in the EB-15 family. The body stays white; the head comes in one of five colours:

• black,
• red,
• blue,
• green,
• yellow.

So the head can be matched to your brand colours or to a particular campaign.

One point worth stating plainly: only the head is coloured. The body is always white - and that is where we print. It works in your favour: a white base takes colour artwork without having to adapt it to a dark surface.

Same build as the EB-15

Technically the COLOUR is very close to the base version. It has:

• piezo ignition,
• dimensions 77×22 mm,
• print area 52.0×13.0 mm,
• a valve for refilling with gas.

The coloured head is the difference. The rest of the family:

• EB-15 - base version with a white head,
• EB-15 LED - with a torch,
• EB-15 OPENER - with a bottle opener.

Dimensions and the basic marking area are shared, so artwork prepared for one model usually works on the others.

Where it fits

Companies with a strong brand colour - match the head to red, black, blue, green or yellow; bars, pubs and restaurants, where a coloured clip stands out against plain white lighters while the printing surface stays neutral; concerts and outdoor events, where the head colour can change between editions while the artwork stays the same; trade fairs and conferences; shops and points of sale; and companies running several brands or product lines from one print layout.

The head is coloured, not the body

This is the most common misunderstanding with this model.

If you pick the red version in the calculator, you get a white lighter with a red head - not a lighter with a red body. The colour is chosen in the calculator under the head option.

Printing is done on the white surface of the body, which keeps CMYK colours predictable.

Full-colour digital UV printing

We mark the EB-15 COLOUR with digital UV printing in UV LED technology. Artwork goes straight onto the white body, and it need not be a simple logo - you can use:

• a dozen or more colours,
• gradients,
• tonal transitions,
• shading,
• photographs,
• more elaborate graphics.

No plates, moulds or screens are prepared; once the file is ready it goes to the press.

The ink is cured with UV light during printing, so the finished mark handles everyday use and contact with water, moisture and light. UV LED also limits how much the item heats up.

We print on Japanese machines built for precise marking of small surfaces. Fine detail reproduces well, but keep type sensible: a phone number or web address has to be easy to read. If several pieces of information only fit after shrinking the letters to the limit, move part of the content to the second side.

One side or two

In the calculator:

• UV printing, one side,
• UV printing, two sides.

One side usually holds a logo and a short slogan. The second gives room for a web address, phone number, company details, a QR code or an extra line.

The two-sided version costs more, and the difference shows in the calculator straight away. Prepare two separate files, one per side.

Print area 52.0×13.0 mm

The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm - a horizontal field running along the white body.

One side holds a logo, a short slogan and a little contact detail. With more to say, use both sides rather than shrinking the type. Artwork is prepared horizontally and runs along the body.

Preparing the print file

• scale 1:1,
• PDF or TIF,
• CMYK,
• 600 dpi for raster elements,
• text converted to curves.

Two-sided printing needs two separate files.

Check all wording, phone numbers and addresses once more before sending. On a run of several hundred pieces, one small typo repeats exactly that many times.

Free graphic design

No artwork ready? For orders placed with us we prepare a simple design free of charge. We need:

• your logo, preferably vector,
• a CDR file up to X6, EPS or AI up to CS6,
• or a TIF or good-quality JPG if you have no vector,
• all the text that is to appear on the lighter.

First version usually within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day. Production starts once you approve the proof.

The model meets ISO 9994:2006 and EN 13869 and has a child-resistant mechanism.

Quantity, price and lead time

Minimum order 100 pieces; the steps are 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces. The unit price drops as the quantity grows. The calculator gives the exact quote once you choose the quantity, the head colour and the marking option, and shows the current lead time in the same place.

Production time counts from your approval of the production proof. If the lighters are needed for a set date, allow time for the design and any corrections as well.
