EB-15 OPENER lighters - A piezo lighter with a built-in bottle opener for crown caps. White body and white head, 77×22 mm, marking area 52.0×13.0 mm - with the opener to be allowed for in the layout. Personalised with full-colour UV printing and refillable thanks to its valve. A natural fit for hospitality, breweries, drinks retailers and outdoor events.

EB-15 OPENER - a lighter and a bottle opener in one

The EB-15 OPENER is built on the familiar EB-15 design with one addition that changes its character: a built-in opener for crown-capped bottles.

Ignition stays piezo - press the button, the piezo element makes a spark and lights the gas. There is no wheel and no flint.

The opener sits at the lower part of the body and is integrated into it, not attached as a separate part, and finished in the same white as the rest of the casing. That is one difference from the cheaper NM-1 OPENER, where the opener is metal and silver.

The EB-15 OPENER measures 77×22 mm, with a white body, a white head and a valve for refilling with gas.

How it differs from the other EB-15 models

The family:

  • EB-15 - base version with no extras,
  • EB-15 COLOUR - coloured head,
  • EB-15 LED - built-in torch,
  • EB-15 OPENER - bottle opener.

All share a similar build and the same basic body size. On the OPENER, the layout of the print needs more attention, because the opener takes up part of the available surface.

Where it fits

Bars, pubs, pizzerias and food trucks, where a cap opener is simply useful; breweries and drinks distributors, for tasting sets and product launches; shops and petrol stations, as a loyalty item or an extra with a purchase; concerts, fairs and sporting events, wherever bottled drinks appear; and company barbecues and picnics.

This is one of those items whose second function is not decoration - in the right setting it genuinely gets used.

The opener and your artwork

The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm, the same as on the base EB-15. With one important caveat: the layout has to allow for the opener, which takes up part of the casing.

So artwork from the classic EB-15 should not be moved onto the OPENER without checking the layout first. Keep the elements that matter away from the opener:

  • the logo,
  • the company name,
  • a phone number,
  • a web address,
  • a QR code,
  • a short slogan.

A background or a less important graphic element can cover more of the surface - what matters is that the opener does not cut through anything that has to stay readable.

You will receive a proof before production; that is the moment to check how the artwork sits in relation to the opener. If we prepare the design, we allow for it while laying out the composition.

Full-colour digital UV printing

We mark the EB-15 OPENER with digital UV printing in UV LED technology. Artwork goes straight onto the white body in full CMYK.

You can use:

  • multi-colour logos,
  • gradients,
  • tonal transitions,
  • shading,
  • photographs,
  • more elaborate graphics.

No plates, moulds or screens are needed; once the file is prepared it goes to the press.

The ink is cured with UV light during printing, so the finished mark handles everyday use and contact with water, moisture and light, with no varnish and no long drying. UV LED also limits how much the item heats up.

We print on Japanese machines built for precise marking of small surfaces. Fine elements can look very good, but text still has to be comfortable to read: if a phone number only fits once shrunk to a few millimetres, move part of the information to the second side.

One side or two?

Two options in the calculator:

  • UV printing, one side,
  • UV printing, two sides.

One side usually covers a logo and a short slogan. Two sides give more room and let you split the content - a company mark on one, and on the other:

  • a web address,
  • a phone number,
  • a QR code,
  • contact details,
  • an extra slogan.

Two-sided printing costs more, and the difference shows in the calculator. Prepare two separate files, one per side.

Preparing the print file

  • scale 1:1,
  • PDF or TIF,
  • CMYK,
  • 600 dpi for raster elements,
  • text converted to curves,
  • allowing for the position of the opener.

Two-sided printing needs two separate files.

Check phone numbers, addresses and the rest of the wording once more before sending. A typo fixed before production takes a moment; after several hundred lighters have been made, the problem is a good deal bigger.

Free graphic design

No artwork ready? With an order placed with us we prepare a simple design free of charge - and on the EB-15 OPENER we allow for the opener, so that important parts of the design do not end up in the wrong place.

Send:

  • your logo, preferably vector,
  • a CDR file up to X6, EPS or AI up to CS6,
  • or a TIF or good-quality JPG,
  • all the text that is to appear on the lighter.

First version usually within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day. Production starts once you approve the proof.

FAQ

EB-15 OPENER lighters - questions and answers

Need help? Contact us

How does the EB-15 OPENER differ from the base EB-15?

The key difference is the built-in opener for crown-capped bottles. Otherwise the build is very similar: white body, white head, piezo ignition and dimensions of 77×22 mm. The artwork, however, has to allow for the position of the opener.

What kind of bottles does the opener suit?

Bottles with a classic crown cap - the sort you would normally open with a bottle opener. That covers beer and many other drinks, which is why the model suits hospitality and the drinks trade.

Does the opener take away part of the print area?

Yes. The basic marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm, but the opener next to the body has to be taken into account when laying out the design. Keep the logo, company name, phone number and other important details away from that part of the surface. A background or less important graphic can cover more of it.

How should I position the logo so it does not clash with the opener?

Put the important elements in the part of the field the opener does not cross. You do not have to give up a larger background or graphic - the point is that the logo, text and contact details stay fully readable. If we prepare the design as part of your order, we fit the layout to the shape of the lighter ourselves.

How does ignition work on this model?

The EB-15 OPENER has piezo ignition. Press the button and the piezo element makes a spark that lights the gas. There is no wheel and flint of the kind used in flint lighters.

Can the lighter be refilled with gas?

Yes. The model has a valve for topping up the gas once it runs out. That is one difference from the cheaper NM-1 OPENER, which has no such valve.

How does the EB-15 OPENER differ from the NM-1 OPENER?

Both have an opener, but the construction differs. EB-15 OPENER:

  • piezo ignition,
  • 77×22 mm,
  • refillable with gas,
  • opener integrated into the white casing.

NM-1 OPENER:

  • flint ignition with wheel and stone,
  • 87×20 mm,
  • no refill valve,
  • metal, silver opener.

The NM-1 OPENER is also the cheaper of the two lighters with an opener in our range.

What marking method do you use?

Digital UV printing in UV LED technology. The artwork goes straight onto the white body in full colour CMYK. No separate forms, screens or plates are needed.

Does the print stand up to water and light?

The ink is cured with UV light during printing. The finished marking handles normal everyday use and contact with water, moisture and light. It needs no extra varnish and no drying once printed.

Can I use a photograph or a coloured background?

Yes. UV printing handles photographs, gradients, shading, tonal transitions and multi-colour graphics. A coloured background can cover a larger part of the field. Important elements such as the logo or text should still be kept clear of the opener.

When is two-sided printing worth it, and how many files should I prepare?

Mainly when you want to split the information: a logo on one side and a phone number, web address, QR code or extra slogan on the other. In that case prepare two separate files, one per side. You choose one-sided or two-sided printing in the calculator.

How should the print file be prepared?

At 1:1 scale, as a PDF or TIF, in CMYK. For raster graphics we recommend 600 dpi, with all text converted to curves. The position of the opener also has to be allowed for, so that it does not cover important parts of the design.

I have no designer - will you prepare the artwork?

Yes. With an order placed with us, a simple print design is free of charge. Send the logo as a CDR file up to X6, EPS or AI up to CS6. If you have no vector version, a TIF or good-quality JPG will do. Include all the text that is to appear on the lighter. We prepare the first version within 1-2 working days, and each further round of changes adds one working day.

Does the lighter meet safety standards?

Yes. The EB-15 OPENER meets ISO 9994:2006 and EN 13869 and has a child-resistant mechanism. This applies to every lighter model in our range.

What is the minimum order and when does the lead time start?

The minimum run is 100 pieces. The next steps are 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces. The price per lighter drops as the quantity grows. The calculator shows the current price and lead time. We count the lead time from your approval of the production proof.
