NM-1 OPENER lighters - product details
NM-1 OPENER lighters - Classic flint ignition, white 87×20 mm body, silver head and full-colour UV printing. It is the simplest of our models with a bottle opener. The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm, with the opener to be allowed for in the layout. There is no refill valve. A simple, economical lighter for larger campaigns - a good fit for hospitality, breweries, drinks shops and outdoor events.
NM-1 OPENER - classic ignition and an opener in one
The NM-1 OPENER is based on the standard NM-1. The build, dimensions and the way it lights stay the same, with one addition: a built-in opener for crown-capped bottles.
The lighter uses a flint mechanism - roll the knurled wheel with your thumb, a spark appears and the gas lights. There is no piezo button of the kind used in the EB-15, SM-3 or 9755206.
The opener sits on the side, at the lower part of the casing. It is metal and silver, so it stands out clearly against the white body. That is one difference from the EB-15 OPENER, where the opener is integrated into the white casing and blends in more.
The NM-1 OPENER measures 87×20 mm - longer and narrower than the EB-15 and SM-3 at 77×22 mm.
An opener on a larger run
If you want a larger quantity with an extra function, the NM-1 OPENER is the natural choice - and the simplest of our models with an opener.
One thing to keep in mind: the model has no gas refill valve. Once the gas runs out, it cannot be topped up - the same as the standard NM-1. If you want an opener and refilling, look at the EB-15 OPENER.
The opener and your artwork
The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm, but it is not a completely clear, flat surface: the metal opener at the lower part of the casing has to be allowed for.
Keep the important elements away from that side:
- the logo,
- the company name,
- a phone number,
- a web address,
- a QR code,
- a short slogan.
A background or less important graphics can reach further. What matters is that the opener does not run over content that has to stay readable.
Artwork prepared for the plain NM-1 may therefore need a small adjustment before it is used on the OPENER version. If you would rather not do that yourself, we can adapt the layout as part of the free design service.
Where it fits
Pubs, bars and restaurants, where bottles are opened daily; breweries and drinks distributors, as a giveaway for customers, trade partners or tasting guests; festivals, concerts and outdoor events, where both the function and a sensible price at higher quantities count; drinks shops and points of sale, as a free gift or a small promotional item; and company picnics and team events.
Full-colour UV printing
We mark NM-1 OPENER lighters with digital UV printing in UV LED technology. Artwork goes straight onto the white body in full CMYK.
You can use:

No plates, moulds or screens are needed; once the file is ready it goes to the press.
The ink is cured with UV light during printing, so the finished mark handles everyday use and contact with water, moisture and light, with no varnish and no extra drying. UV LED also limits how much the item heats up while being marked.
We print on Japanese machines built for precise work on small surfaces. Fine elements are possible, but do not shrink them too far: contact details should be comfortable to read, not merely technically printable.
One side or two?
Two options in the calculator:
- UV printing, one side,
- UV printing, two sides.
One side usually covers a logo and a short message. With more content, use both surfaces - a company mark on one and, on the other:
- a web address,
- a phone number,
- a slogan,
- a QR code,
- the remaining contact details.
The two-sided version costs more and the difference shows in the calculator straight away. Prepare two separate files, one per side - and allow for the opener in both.
Preparing the print file

Check all wording, phone numbers and addresses once more before sending. On a larger run, even a small typo repeats on every piece.

How does the NM-1 OPENER differ from the plain NM-1?
The key difference is the built-in bottle opener. Otherwise both share the same basic build: 87×20 mm, white body, silver head, flint ignition and no gas refill valve. On the OPENER version, the opener also has to be allowed for when laying out the print.
Does the opener take away part of the print area?
Yes. The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm, but the opener takes up part of the casing, so the field is not a perfectly clear surface. Keep the logo, company name and contact details away from the side with the opener. A background or less important elements can reach further.
How should I lay out the design so the opener does not spoil it?
Move the important information to the part of the casing furthest from the opener. That applies above all to:
- the logo,
- the company name,
- the phone number,
- the web address,
- the QR code.
If we prepare the design, we fit the layout to the shape of the lighter ourselves.
How does ignition work on this model?

Can the NM-1 OPENER be refilled with gas?

How does the NM-1 OPENER differ from the EB-15 OPENER?

What colour is this lighter?
The body is white plastic and the head is silver, as is the metal opener. We print on the white part of the body. If you want a coloured head, that is available on the EB-15 COLOUR.
What is the minimum order?
The minimum order is 100 pieces. The next steps are 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces. The price per lighter drops as the quantity grows; the calculator shows the exact figures.
Can I have printing on both sides?
Yes. In the calculator choose "UV printing, two sides". The two-sided version costs more but gives more room for information - a logo on one side and, say, a web address, phone number or extra slogan on the other. Prepare two separate files and allow for the opener in both.
How should the print file be prepared?
At 1:1 scale, as a PDF or TIF, in CMYK. For raster graphics we recommend 600 dpi, with all text converted to curves. Two-sided printing needs two separate files. The opener also has to be allowed for when laying out the artwork.
What if I have no artwork?
We will prepare a simple design free of charge if the order is placed with us. Send the logo as a CDR file up to X6, EPS or AI up to CS6. If you have no vector, a TIF or good-quality JPG will do. Include all the text that is to appear on the lighter. We prepare the first version within 1-2 working days, and each further round of changes adds one working day.
Does the print stand up to daily use?
The ink is cured with UV light during printing. The finished marking handles normal use and contact with water, moisture and light, and needs no varnish or drying. Very heavy rubbing or mechanical damage to the surface can leave marks over time, as with any marked item. We print in full CMYK, so the design can use any number of colours, gradients, tonal transitions or photographs.
Is the lighter child-resistant?
Yes. The NM-1 OPENER meets EN 13869 and ISO 9994:2006 and has a child-resistant mechanism. Every lighter in our range meets those requirements.
When does the lead time start?
We count it from your approval of the production proof, not from placing the order. The current turnaround is shown in the calculator. If the lighters are needed for a specific date, order in advance or confirm the date with us by e-mail.
