Pendrive Edge - design with character

The Edge does not try to look like a neutral, classic drive. Its strength is exactly that angular silhouette: sharp lines and a geometric finish.

The metal sides are matt, while the parts at the USB connector and at the opposite end are black plastic, giving the casing a clear two-part character.

Seven colour versions are available:

• black,

• blue.

The Edge has a removable cap protecting the USB connector. It is the classic solution and shields the plug in transport - but once off, the cap is a separate part.

Where it fits

Creative agencies and design studios handing clients a portfolio, presentations, source files or finished material; technology and electronics, for product launches and conference sets; automotive and industrial design, for renders, technical documentation and catalogues; media and press kits, where the drive looks like part of the set rather than a random giveaway; and fashion brands and limited editions, where the angular styling suits special collections.

Personalisation - laser engraving

We mark the Edge with laser engraving. The laser removes the outer surface layer at the marked spot and exposes lighter material underneath, giving a durable single-colour mark with no added layer of ink.

Contrast is usually stronger on the darker versions; on a silver surface the effect is more subtle.

The geometry of the Edge works well with simple logotypes, lines and short pieces of text. The shape of the casing creates natural boundaries for the marking area, so even a small engraving can look very precise.

Preparing the engraving file

• a vector PDF,
• vector graphics only,
• artwork in black,
• no greyscale,
• text converted to curves.

The black elements mark the areas to be engraved.

If you are unsure whether the file is vector, zoom in hard on screen: vector lines stay sharp at any magnification.

Capacities

• 8 GB - presentations, documents and light material sets,
• 16 GB - larger sales packs and small photo libraries,
• 32 GB - graphic files, catalogues and multimedia,
• 64 GB - larger projects, photographs and film,
• 128 GB - extensive archives and material libraries,
• 256 GB - large data sets, design files, RAW photographs or video.

For ordinary documents and presentations there is no need for the largest capacity. But if the drive is genuinely to serve as a portable project archive, 128 or 256 GB gives far more room.

USB 2.0 or USB 3.2 gen.1?

USB 2.0 covers presentations, PDF files, documents and standard event material. It is the right choice when cost across a larger run matters most and the files are not big.

USB 3.2 gen.1 supports up to 5 Gb/s, worth taking for larger graphic files, video or extensive archives.

Actual read and write speeds depend on the memory used, its capacity and the device the drive is connected to.

The first version usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day.
