Pendrive UBU - a business drive for everyday use

Not every order needs a wooden casing, a card format or an unusual mechanism. Sometimes what counts is capacity, the right interface, a legible logo and a sensible price across a larger quantity.

That is where the UBU fits.

The casing is plastic with a polished chrome steel element. The whole thing has a neutral, corporate look that suits a sales department and a new-starter pack equally well.

There is economical USB 2.0 and faster USB 3.2 gen.1, and a capacity range from 8 to 256 GB - so the same model covers simple documents and presentations as well as much larger data sets.

Where it fits

Staff equipment, as part of a standard onboarding set holding documents, templates, training material and work tools; B2B company gifts, where the neutral styling suits clients, suppliers, integrators and technology partners; HR welcome packs, carrying terms, instructions, company presentations and organisational material; tenders and larger institutional orders, where the wide choice of capacity and interface makes it easier to meet a technical specification; and backup or moving larger data sets, where the 128 and 256 GB versions turn the drive into a working archive - there, take the faster interface.

USB 2.0 or USB 3.2 gen.1?

USB 2.0 is the right choice for documents, presentations, terms, spreadsheets and other files that are not especially large. On bigger runs it is also the more economical option.

USB 3.2 gen.1 supports up to 5 Gb/s, so copying large files can be considerably faster.

That matters particularly when a larger data set has to be loaded onto dozens or hundreds of drives before they go out, or the contents will be updated regularly afterwards.

Actual read and write speeds depend on the capacity, the memory used and the device the drive is connected to.

Personalisation - full-colour UV printing

We mark the UBU with digital UV printing in full CMYK.

That means multi-colour logos, gradients, tonal transitions and richer graphics, without reducing your branding to a single colour.

The ink is cured with UV light during printing, and the finished marking stands up to normal everyday use and contact with moisture and light.

On a small casing, keep the layout simple: a logo and a short web address will usually read better than several lines of small type.

• 256 GB - a mobile archive and large file sets.

For an ordinary welcome pack, 8 or 16 GB is often enough. If the drive is meant to stay a working tool and hold more data, consider 64 GB or more.

Send your logo, preferably in vector form, along with any text that is to appear on the drive. We will lay it out and send it for approval.

The first version usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day. Production starts only once the proof is approved.
