MOOI metal pens - A metal pen measuring 140×10 mm, with three fine stripes on the lower part of the barrel and the largest engraving field in our whole range. At 75.0×6.0 mm it takes a full company name, a web address or a longer line of text without trouble. Marked with YAG laser engraving; minimum order 100 pieces.
MOOI - the longest engraving field in our pen range
The MOOI is a metal pen measuring 140×10 mm, made of aluminium. The easiest way to recognise it is by three subtle stripes on the lower part of the barrel - a small detail, but with several models side by side you know at once which one is the MOOI.
Its most important feature is less obvious at first glance. The engraving field is 75.0×6.0 mm, the largest of all our pens. For comparison, the COSMO offers 65.0×6.0 mm, the BOND 70.0×4.0 mm, and on the TIKO and TESS the marking is split across two smaller fields.
Those extra millimetres genuinely tell. On the MOOI it is easier to fit a full company name without abbreviating it, a web address beside the logo, or a slightly longer line of text. If on other pens the design ended with type shrunk to the limits of legibility, or a name broken across two lines, here you have considerably more room.
Where the MOOI works best
A good choice wherever the pen has to carry more than a small logo:
- Welcome sets for new staff - room for the full company name alongside the address of an internal service or website.
- Conferences, training and congresses - the participant gets something to write with, and afterwards keeps the organiser's name or the address where the materials live.
- Reception, meeting rooms and service desks - company pens to hand wherever clients or visitors sign documents.
- Gifts for business contacts - a metal barrel and durable engraving suit a set with an offer, a contract or other company materials.
- Institutions, foundations and law firms - official names tend to be long and rarely look good abbreviated. A 75 mm field fits them far more comfortably.
If your company name is short and the pen only needs a simple mark, a field this large may not be necessary. The MOOI earns its place when there is a little more to say.
YAG laser engraving
We mark metal pens with precise YAG laser engraving. The laser removes the layer of lacquer or anodising and exposes the lighter metal beneath. No ink and no additional layer is applied, so there is nothing to rub off or peel away - the mark lasts as long as the pen.
Engraving is single-colour: the laser exposes metal rather than printing colour, so even a multi-colour logo comes out in one tone. On darker barrels the contrast is stronger; on light and silver ones the effect is more subtle.
One side or two
In the calculator, under "Marking", choose "One-sided engraving" or "Two-sided engraving". With a field this size, one side is usually enough even for a longer line. Two-sided engraving helps when you want to separate the information - a logo on one side, contact details on the other. The two-sided version costs more, and the difference shows in the calculator as soon as you switch the option.
The engraving file and free design work
Send finished artwork as a vector PDF in black only. Everything black will be engraved; the rest stays untouched. Convert text to curves so the typeface does not change when the file is opened. Avoid photographs and greyscale - single-colour engraving cannot reproduce halftones.
No artwork ready? With an order placed with us we prepare it free of charge. E-mail your logo, preferably in vector form, along with the text for the pen. Our designer will send a proof for approval, and production starts once you accept it.

Quantity and ordering
The minimum order is 100 pieces, with further steps at 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000. Pens are produced in multiples of 50, so entering 220 makes the calculator round the order up to 250.
The calculator also shows the estimated lead time, counted from your approval of the proof rather than from the day of ordering. The first version of the design usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day.

What are the dimensions of the MOOI?
The pen measures 140×10 mm and is made of aluminium. The barrel diameter matches our other classic models at ø 10 mm, so it sits comfortably in the hand.
How large is the engraving field, and what fits in it?
75.0×6.0 mm - the largest in our range. It takes a full company name without abbreviating, a web address beside a logo, or a slightly longer line of text. Where other pens would force the type down to the limits of legibility, this field leaves room to breathe.
How do I recognise a MOOI among the other models?
By the three subtle stripes on the lower part of the barrel. It is a small detail, but with several pens side by side it identifies the MOOI immediately.
How does the MOOI differ from the Touch Pen MOOI?
Both have a 140×10 mm barrel. The Touch Pen MOOI additionally has a tip for touchscreens, but its engraving field is shorter: 60.0×6.0 mm instead of 75.0×6.0 mm. If you want to use the same design on both models, prepare it so that it also fits the shorter field of the Touch Pen.
How does the MOOI differ from the other pens in the range?
Above all in the size of the engraving field. The COSMO has 65.0×6.0 mm, the BOND 70.0×4.0 mm, the VENO RUBBER 60.0×6.0 mm, and the TIKO and TESS have two separate fields of 50.0×6.0 mm and 20.0×6.0 mm. The MOOI offers one continuous field of 75.0×6.0 mm, so a longer line can be set without splitting it into parts.
Can the refill in the MOOI be replaced?
Yes. The refill is replaceable and in a common size, so a spare is easy to buy in any stationery shop. When the ink runs out there is no need to discard the metal barrel.
Can the refill be black or red?
Blue is standard. Black or red is available for an additional charge, but not as an option in the calculator. Mention it when placing the order and we will confirm availability and terms.
What marking method do you use, and can the engraving be in colour?
Precise YAG laser engraving. The laser removes the top layer of lacquer or anodising and exposes the lighter metal beneath, so the mark is always single-colour - even if the original logo uses several colours.
Does the engraving wear off over time?
No. It is not a print or an added layer, but part of the barrel itself. Water will not wash it off and everyday carrying will not rub it away.
Which barrel colour suits engraving best?
Darker barrels give the strongest contrast, because the light trace of exposed metal stands out clearly. On light and silver barrels the engraving is quieter and more subtle.
Can I engrave both sides of the pen?
Yes - choose "Two-sided engraving" in the calculator. With a field this large, one side is usually enough even for a longer line, but two sides help when you want to keep a logo and contact details apart. The two-sided version costs more; the difference appears as soon as you switch the option.
What file should I prepare for engraving?

What happens after I place an order, and when does the lead time start?
First we prepare a proof of the marking and send it for approval, so you can check the placement of the logo and text. Production starts only once the design is approved, and the lead time shown in the calculator runs from that moment. If the pens must be ready for a specific date, order early or confirm the date with us by e-mail.
My logo only exists as a JPG or PNG. Can it be engraved?
Engraving needs vector artwork, so such a logo has to be redrawn first. We offer that as a paid service, quoted individually according to how complex the mark is. Afterwards you get the logo in vector formats, usable on other materials too. Laying out the logo and text on the pen remains free of charge.
My logo is vertical, with the name under the symbol. How will it come out?
The MOOI field is 6 mm high, so a vertical arrangement fits better here than on our slimmer models - but stacked elements still become small once scaled down. A horizontal logo makes the best use of a 75 mm field. If your brand book has one, send that version; if not, our designer can arrange the same elements horizontally. You will see a proof before production.
