Touch Pen MOOI - product details
Touch Pen MOOI - A metal pen, 140×10 mm, with a tip for operating touchscreens. Write on paper, retract the refill and use it on a phone, tablet or terminal. The engraving field is 60.0×6.0 mm - 15 mm less than on the classic MOOI, which is worth allowing for when preparing artwork.
Touch Pen MOOI - the MOOI barrel with a touchscreen tip
The Touch Pen MOOI is a metal pen measuring 140×10 mm with a tip for operating touchscreens. One pen covers a signature on paper and a screen at a payment terminal.
The difference from the classic MOOI is the engraving field. Here it is 60.0×6.0 mm, against 75.0×6.0 mm on the standard model - 15 mm shorter. The height is the same, so a logo does not have to shrink; a long line of text, on the other hand, has noticeably less room.
If you need the largest possible marking area, the classic MOOI will be the more practical choice. If the touchscreen tip matters more, this is the model - just plan the artwork for the shorter field.
Where it works
- Field and mobile work - one pen for paper and for a screen.
- Retail and service points - useful wherever customers sign on a terminal.
- Conferences and training - handed out with the materials and usually kept afterwards.
- Gifts for business contacts - a metal pen with an engraving, plus a function that gets used.
- Welcome sets - a practical addition for new staff.
YAG laser engraving
We mark metal pens with precise YAG laser engraving. The laser removes the top layer of lacquer or anodising and exposes the lighter metal beneath. Nothing is applied on top, so there is no ink to peel or rub away - the mark is part of the barrel and lasts as long as the pen.
Engraving is single-colour: the laser exposes metal rather than printing colour, so a multi-colour logo appears in one tone. On darker barrels the contrast is stronger; on light and silver ones the effect is more subtle.
One side or two
In the calculator, under "Marking", choose "One-sided engraving" or "Two-sided engraving". One side usually covers a logo with the company name. Two sides help when you want to keep a logo and contact details apart - useful here, given the shorter field. The two-sided version costs more; the difference shows in the calculator.
The engraving file and free design work
Send finished artwork as a vector PDF in black only, with text converted to curves. Everything black will be engraved. Avoid photographs and greyscale - engraving does not reproduce halftones.
No artwork ready? With an order placed with us we prepare it free of charge. E-mail your logo and the text for the pen; our designer will send a proof for approval, and production starts once you accept it.

Touch Pen MOOI - questions and answers
Need help? Contact us
What are the dimensions of the Touch Pen MOOI?
140×10 mm - the same barrel size as the classic MOOI, with a touchscreen tip added.
How large is the engraving field?
60.0×6.0 mm - 15 mm shorter than on the classic MOOI, which offers 75.0×6.0 mm. The height is unchanged, so a logo does not have to shrink; a long line of text has less room.
How does the Touch Pen MOOI differ from the standard MOOI?
By the touchscreen tip, and by the shorter engraving field: 60.0×6.0 mm here against 75.0×6.0 mm on the classic model. Everything else - barrel size, material, marking method - is the same.
I have artwork prepared for the standard MOOI. Will it fit the Touch Pen?
Not necessarily. The field on the Touch Pen version is 15 mm shorter, so a design made for the full 75 mm may not fit. The content then has to be shortened or the layout reduced. If you plan to order both models, design for the shorter 60.0×6.0 mm field from the start - the engraving will then look very similar on both.
What is the touchscreen tip for?
For operating touchscreens instead of a fingertip - a phone, tablet or payment terminal. Write on paper, retract the refill and use the same pen on a screen.
How does the Touch Pen MOOI differ from the Touch Pen BOND?
Mainly in barrel thickness and the proportions of the engraving field. The Touch Pen MOOI is 140×10 mm with a 60.0×6.0 mm field. The Touch Pen BOND is distinctly slimmer at 135×7 mm with a 70.0×4.0 mm field. The BOND gives more room horizontally, but the MOOI has a taller field, which can matter with a wider logo or a larger symbol.
Can the refill be replaced?
Yes. The refill is replaceable, so when the ink runs out you change it rather than discarding the pen.
Can the refill be black or red?
Blue is standard. Black or red may be available for an additional charge, and that option is not in the calculator. Mention it when placing the order and we will confirm availability and terms.
What marking method do you use, and does the engraving rub off?
Precise YAG laser engraving. The laser removes the top layer of the surface and exposes the metal beneath, so the mark becomes part of the barrel. There is no ink to peel and everyday carrying will not wear it away.
Can the engraving be in colour?
No. The laser applies no ink - it exposes metal - so the mark is always single-colour, however many colours the original logo uses.
Which barrel colour suits engraving best?
Darker barrels give the strongest contrast, because the light trace of exposed metal stands out clearly. On light and silver barrels the engraving is quieter and more subtle.
Can I engrave both sides?
Yes. Choose "Two-sided engraving" in the calculator. With the shorter field on this model, splitting a logo and contact details across two sides is often the better arrangement. The two-sided version costs more; the difference shows in the calculator.
What file should I prepare?
A vector PDF in black only, with text converted to curves. Everything black will be engraved. Avoid photographs and greyscale - halftones cannot be reproduced.
I have no artwork ready - can you help?
Yes. With an order placed with us we prepare it free of charge. E-mail your logo and the text for the pen; our designer will lay it out for the available field and send a proof for approval.
What is the minimum order, and when does the lead time start?
The minimum is 100 pieces, with further steps at 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000, produced in multiples of 50. The lead time appears in the calculator and is counted from your approval of the proof, not from the day of ordering.
My logo only exists as a JPG or PNG. Can it be engraved?
Engraving needs vector artwork, so such a logo has to be redrawn first. We offer that as a paid service, quoted individually according to how complex the mark is. Afterwards you get the logo in vector formats, usable on other materials too. Laying out the logo and text on the pen remains free of charge.
My logo is vertical, with the name under the symbol. How will it come out?
The field is 6 mm high, so stacked elements become small once scaled down and fine text suffers first. A horizontal logo makes better use of the space. If your brand book has one, send that version; if not, our designer can arrange the same elements horizontally or suggest what to leave out. You will see a proof before production either way.
