Eco receipt sleeves - product details
Eco receipt sleeves - The EKO receipt holder is the natural version of the classic holder for a receipt, a card, a voucher or a small document. We print it on eco-friendly papers such as Kraftliner, Kazan with grass fibre and Flora, with no lamination. Two die-cut formats are available: folded 60×95 mm and glued 70×105 mm, with single or double-sided printing. The price of the version you choose is shown straight away in the calculator.
In the EKO version the paper itself matters most. We do not cover it with film, so it keeps its natural colour, texture and characteristic surface. In the hand a holder like this feels completely different from a smooth, laminated one.
It is a small item, but it can round out the identity of a brand built on natural materials, simplicity and a consistent way of serving customers.
EKO receipt holders suit cafés, restaurants, florists, shops selling natural products, beauty salons, hotels, guesthouses, craft studios, boutiques and concept stores. They work anywhere a receipt, a card or a voucher should be handed to the customer in a neat, attractive form.
What you can use an EKO receipt holder for
Despite the name, the holder does not have to be used only for receipts. It is a small, versatile sleeve for the various things handed to a customer after a purchase or a service.
You can use it as:
- A holder for a receipt or payment confirmation - instead of handing over a loose printout, you slip it into an attractive sleeve with the company logo.
- A holder for a card or voucher - it suits discount, loyalty, gift and hotel cards as well as vouchers.
- A small information carrier - you can put your logo, contact details, website address or a QR code leading to Google reviews, an online shop or a loyalty scheme on it.
- Part of a set or of the packaging - it can carry a short thank-you for the purchase, a message to the customer, or serve as a small addition to a gift set or a parcel.
With a format like this a simple rule works well: less is more. A few key pieces of information will read better than a design filled edge to edge with small text.
Which format to choose
There are two die-cut versions.
- Folded holder 60×95 mm - compact and easy to handle. It suits handing over a receipt, a card or a small voucher quickly.
- Glued holder 70×105 mm - a more enclosed construction. The contents stay in place better, and the larger format also gives a little more room for the design.
If the holder is mainly for receipts, the folded version will be enough.
If you also want to slip in a card, a voucher or another small item alongside the receipt, the glued version may be more convenient.
Which EKO paper to choose
Each of the papers available has its own shade and texture, and each affects the look of the print differently. That is why it is worth choosing the paper not just by weight but above all to suit the style of the brand and the design.
- Kraftliner 300 gsm - classic kraft paper with a natural, more raw look. It works well with simple designs, strong typography and dark printing.
- Kazan ecru 250 gsm and 300 gsm with grass fibre - a warm paper with visible grass specks. It suits natural brands, cafés, hotels, spas and wellness products. The 300 gsm version is stiffer and more solid.
- Flora Avorio 240 gsm - a light paper in a delicate ivory shade. It looks good on subtle cosmetic, gift and boutique designs.
- Flora Giglio 240 gsm and 350 gsm - light, neutral and versatile. The 350 gsm version is thicker and gives the finished holder more stiffness.
- Flora Tabacco 240 gsm and 350 gsm - a darker, more decisive paper for kraft, boutique and visually distinctive designs. Because of the colour of the stock, simple layouts and strong contrast work best on it.
Why there is no lamination
EKO holders are deliberately left unlaminated.
In this product the natural surface of the paper is one of the most important parts of the whole effect. Film would hide the texture, change the feel and take away part of the paper's character.
Without that extra layer the material stays more natural and feels less plastic.
You just have to remember that the colour of the paper itself affects the look of the print. On kraft, ecru and darker stocks the colours can be warmer, more muted and less contrasty than on white coated paper.
That is why clear typography, strong contrast, larger text and simple graphic elements work best on EKO designs.
Printing
We print the holders in full CMYK colour, on one side or on both.
Single-sided printing is enough for a simple design with the logo, the company name, a short thank-you or the basic contact details.
The double-sided version gives you more room. You can use the second side for a QR code, contact details, social media, information about returns or a loyalty scheme, or a short message after the purchase.
On EKO papers it is particularly worth avoiding very small text, thin lines and QR codes that are too small. A natural stock needs a little more space and clearer elements.
File check and graphic design
When you place the order you choose how the design is prepared. The exact surcharges for each option are shown in the calculator.
- No file check - the file goes straight into production. This option is for agencies, designers and anyone confident the design is prepared correctly.
- File check by a designer - we check the format, bleed, the folding, creasing and glue lines, and where the artwork sits in relation to the cutting die. On EKO papers we also look at the contrast and legibility of the design, because the natural colour of the stock affects the print.
- Simple graphic design - if you have no file ready, send us your logo, the text, contact details and your guidelines. We will prepare a simple design matched to the holder format and EKO paper you chose.
The technical check is particularly worth choosing if the design was made in Canva, an online generator, an office program or with AI tools. Such files can look good on screen and still need the bleed, the cutting die, CMYK, resolution or safe margins adjusted.
The check does not cover the content.
We do not check typos, prices, numbers, dates, contact details or whether the QR codes work. The customer is responsible for that information.
How to prepare the file for print
A PDF that follows our specification works best. We also accept good quality JPG and PNG files.
Prepare photographs and artwork at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale, and the design in CMYK.
If the background or artwork runs to the edge, add the right amount of bleed.
Keep the logo, text, QR code and other important elements away from the cutting lines, the folds, the glue areas and the space the receipt or card slides into.
Always use the correct template or cutting die for the version you chose. The design should allow for the cutting, creasing, folding and glue lines and the flaps, which can be invisible once it is folded.
Remember too that the colour of EKO paper affects the print. On Kraftliner, Kazan or the darker Flora versions the colours can look less intense than on white paper.
Avoid very small text, thin lines and QR codes that are too small.
Eco receipt sleeves - questions and answers
Need help? Contact us
Is the EKO receipt holder laminated?
No.
We deliberately leave EKO holders without film, because the natural surface, colour and texture of the paper are the most important part of this product.
Why is film not used on EKO papers?
Film would cover the natural surface of the paper and change the way the holder feels in the hand.
Leaving it off keeps the character of Kraftliner, Kazan and the Flora papers and gives a more natural, less plastic look.
Which papers are available in the EKO version?
Your choices are:
- Kraftliner 300 gsm,
- Kazan ecru 250 gsm with grass fibre,
- Kazan ecru 300 gsm with grass fibre,
- Flora Avorio 240 gsm,
- Flora Giglio 240 gsm,
- Flora Giglio 350 gsm,
- Flora Tabacco 240 gsm,
- Flora Tabacco 350 gsm.
They differ in colour, texture and stiffness.
Which EKO paper should I choose?
Kraftliner suits kraft, simple and natural designs.
Kazan with grass fibre has a more organic character and works for brands connected with nature, food service or wellness.
Flora Avorio and Flora Giglio are lighter and more versatile, so they are easy to use on subtle designs.
Flora Tabacco has a darker, more decisive colour, so it needs stronger contrast.
Does the colour of the paper affect how the print looks?
Yes.
EKO papers have a shade of their own, which affects the colours of the printing ink.
The print can be warmer, more muted and less contrasty than on white paper.
That is why clear typography, strong contrast and elements that are not too small work best.
Which formats are available?
There are two:
- folded holder 60×95 mm,
- glued holder 70×105 mm.
Both versions are die-cut and need the design prepared on the right cutting die.
How does the folded holder differ from the glued one?
The folded holder at 60×95 mm is smaller and simpler to handle. It suits receipts, cards and short items.
The glued holder at 70×105 mm has a more enclosed construction. The contents stay inside better, and the larger surface gives a little more room for the print.
Is the EKO holder only for receipts?
No.
You can also use it for a discount, loyalty or hotel card, a voucher, a gift card, a payment confirmation or another small document.
Is double-sided printing available?
Yes.
You can choose single or double-sided printing.
The second side lets you add more information, such as contact details, a QR code, social media, the returns policy, a thank-you for the purchase or details of a loyalty scheme.
Can a QR code go on an EKO holder?
Yes.
The code should be large enough, legible and high in contrast.
On kraft, ecru and darker papers it is particularly important not to shrink it too far or to use too weak a contrast.
Check before printing that it leads to the right address.
Can I prepare the design in Canva?
Yes, but with a file like that it is worth choosing the check by a designer.
Designs from Canva, online generators and AI tools often need adjusting to the cutting die, the bleed, CMYK, the resolution and the safe margins.
Do I have to use a template or cutting die?
Yes.
The holder is die-cut, so the design has to match the particular construction.
You have to allow for the cutting, creasing, folding and glue lines and the flaps, which can be partly or completely invisible once it is folded.
Does the file check cover the content?
No.
The check by a designer covers the technical preparation of the design for print.
We do not check typos, prices, numbers, dates, contact details or whether the QR codes work.
The customer is responsible for the content.
Will you prepare a simple EKO holder design?
Yes.
Send us your logo, the text, contact details and your guidelines, and we will prepare a simple design matched to the format and EKO paper you chose.
Which trades are EKO holders a good choice for?
They suit shops selling natural products, cafés, restaurants, florists, boutiques, beauty salons, clinics, hotels, guesthouses, concept stores, craft studios and other brands that want to use materials with a more natural character.
