Eco folded business cards - product details
Eco folded business cards - EKO folded business cards are printed on natural Kraftliner and Kazan ecru papers with grass fibres, and on Flora papers. They measure 90×100 mm, which after creasing and folding gives a convenient 90×50 mm card. Closed it fits easily into a wallet or card holder, and opened it offers twice the room for an offer, a QR code, a price list or fields for stamps. We print them double-sided, without lamination, because here the colour, texture and surface of the natural paper matter most. The price for your chosen run and paper is shown straight away in the calculator.
EKO folded business cards - natural paper and more room for content
An ordinary business card is enough for basic contact details, but sometimes it would help to fit something more on it. An EKO folded card solves that while keeping the natural character of the paper.
The sheet measures 90×100 mm, and folded you get the standard, handy 90×50 mm format. The card fits into a card holder, wallet or case, but opened it gives twice the surface of a classic business card.
You can therefore treat it as a small folder. Put a logo, the company name and basic details on the outside, and a short description of services, a price list, space for stamps, a discount code or a QR code inside.
Everything is printed on papers with their own shade and texture, so the finished card goes well with brands that value a natural, ecological or craft character.
Who EKO folded business cards are for
A good choice when an ordinary card gives too little room and you also want material with a natural look.
EKO folded business cards suit:
- ecological, local, handmade and boutique brands,
- beauty salons, hairdressers, massage studios and businesses connected with natural cosmetics,
- florists, cafes, restaurants and agritourism farms,
- hotels, makers of regional products and art studios,
- ecological shops and service businesses building a more natural image.
They work particularly well where the customer receives a card with information they will come back to later.
Folded format, 90×100 mm to 90×50 mm
Two sheet formats are available:
- 90×100 mm before folding, 90×50 mm after folding
- 180×50 mm before folding, 90×50 mm after folding
Closed, the card keeps the classic dimensions of a business card. Opened, you get an additional surface, which means it can also serve as a small piece of information material.
EKO folded business cards can serve as:
- business cards with an extended offer,
- mini advertising folders,
- loyalty cards,
- stamp cards,
- discount cards,
- mini vouchers,
- VIP cards,
- referral cards,
- appointment cards for the next visit,
- service cards,
- small price lists,
- cards with a QR code,
- gift tags for parcels.
One small card can therefore combine several functions while taking up no more room folded than an ordinary business card.
EKO papers available in the calculator
In this category the paper is one of the most important elements of the design. Kraft and ecru substrates and the Flora papers are available, differing in colour, weight and the character of the surface.
Kraftliner 300 gsm
Kraftliner 300 gsm is a stiff, brown paper with a clearly kraft character.
It suits natural, ecological and craft designs. It looks best with simple typography, strong contrast and expressive graphic elements.
Kazan ecru 250 gsm with grass fibres
A warm, natural ecru paper with visible grass fibres.
It has a more organic character and suits ecological, local and handmade brands and designs connected with nature.
Kazan ecru 300 gsm with grass fibres
It keeps the characteristic look of Kazan but is stiffer than the 250 gsm version.
A good choice if the folded card should look natural while making a more solid, presentable impression.
Flora Avorio 240 gsm
A light decorative paper with a calm, elegant character.
It goes well with more delicate typography, natural colours and designs for beauty, hotel, wedding and boutique brands.
Flora Giglio 240 gsm
A paper with a warm, natural look that suits handmade, local and craft brands.
Flora Tabacco 240 gsm
A darker, more expressive substrate. With this paper the contrast of the design matters particularly.
Simpler layouts, legible typography and stronger graphic elements work best.
Flora Giglio 350 gsm
A thicker, stiffer version of the Giglio paper. It keeps its natural character while the finished card is more solid.
Flora Tabacco 350 gsm
The thickest of the available Flora Tabacco variants. It combines a darker, natural colour with more stiffness and a more presentable form.
Remember that the colour of the paper affects the look of the print. Light and pastel colours can look different than on white coated stock. With EKO papers, designs prepared specially for the chosen substrate, with legible typography and suitable contrast, work best.
No film - the natural paper stays visible
We do not laminate EKO folded business cards.
That is not an accidental limitation. In this category what matters most is the natural surface of the paper, its colour, texture and the way it feels in the hand. Covering it with film would change exactly those features.
If you want a stiffer, more solid card, choose a heavier paper instead of finishing - Kazan 300 gsm, Flora Giglio 350 gsm, Flora Tabacco 350 gsm or Kraftliner 300 gsm.
The character of the finished card then comes from the substrate itself, with no additional coating.
Double-sided printing
We print EKO folded business cards double-sided, in full colour.
Thanks to the folded construction each part of the design can serve a different purpose:
- The front - a logo, the company name, a person's name or the main message.
- The inside - a description of services, the rules of a loyalty programme, space for stamps, a discount code or a small price list.
- The back - contact details, a QR code, a website address, social media or a map.
Splitting information across several surfaces keeps things orderly and avoids overloading the design with small content.
Creasing and the fold line
Before folding, the card is creased, that is a groove is made where the fold will be.
Creasing helps fold the card evenly and exactly along the planned line. It matters particularly with heavier papers, because it reduces the risk of the surface cracking unattractively at the fold.
The crease position has to be allowed for while designing too. A phone number, a logo, a QR code, small lettering and thin graphic elements should not sit right at the fold line.
It is safer to leave a suitable margin there, so the fold does not affect the legibility of important information.
Ways of preparing the file
When placing an order you choose one of three ways of preparing the artwork:
- No checking - the file goes straight into production. A variant for agencies, designers and people confident that the artwork was correctly prepared for printing and folding.
- Checking by a graphic designer - we check the format, bleed, distances from the trim and fold lines, the quality of graphics, the colour and the way the file is saved. The check does not cover substantive content, typos or the correctness of contact details.
- Simple graphic design - if you have no finished file, send a logo, details, texts and basic guidance. We will prepare a legible design matched to the 90×100 mm format folded to 90×50 mm and to the EKO paper chosen.
A technical check is particularly worth considering when the artwork was made in Canva, an online generator or an office editor. Such files may need corrections to bleed, the format, the position of the fold line or embedded fonts.
How to prepare the print file
Best send a PDF prepared in line with our specification. In selected cases we also accept good quality JPG or PNG files.
Graphics should be at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale, and the artwork prepared in CMYK.
When preparing a folded business card, remember a few rules:
- add bleed if graphics or the background run to the edge,
- keep important elements away from both the trim line and the fold,
- convert texts to outlines or embed fonts correctly,
- avoid very small letters and exceptionally thin typefaces,
- prepare the QR code at a suitable size and with good contrast,
- allow for the colour of the natural paper while designing.
A well-prepared file keeps the design legible and all the elements correctly placed once the card is folded.
If you are not sure whether the artwork meets the technical requirements, choose checking by a graphic designer or ask us to prepare a simple design.

Eco folded business cards - questions and answers
Need help? Contact us
What are EKO folded business cards?
They are cards measuring 90×100 mm before folding, which after creasing have the classic 90×50 mm format. We print them on natural, kraft and decorative papers, so they look and feel different from standard cards on smooth coated stock.
What is the format of an EKO folded business card?
The format available is 90×100 mm folded to 90×50 mm. Closed, the card keeps the convenient size of a classic business card; opened, it gives twice the surface for an offer, contact details, a QR code, a price list or fields for stamps.
How do they differ from ordinary folded business cards?
The main difference is the paper. Classic folded cards are made on standard substrates, while the EKO version is printed on natural Kraftliner and Kazan papers with grass fibres, and on Flora papers. They differ in colour, texture and the way they feel in the hand.
Are EKO folded business cards printed on both sides?
Yes. We print them double-sided, in full colour. That lets you use the front, the back and the inner part visible once the card is opened.
Can EKO folded business cards be laminated?
No. We do not laminate in this version, because the most important feature of EKO papers is their natural surface, colour and texture. If you want a stiffer card, choose a substrate with a higher weight.
What is creasing and why is it used?
Creasing means making an even groove in the paper where the fold will be. The card then folds exactly along the intended line, and the risk of the paper cracking at the edge is lower. That matters particularly with thicker papers.
Which EKO paper should I choose for a folded card?
For a strong kraft character, Kraftliner 300 gsm suits well. If you want a warmer, natural look, you can choose Kazan 250 or 300 gsm with grass fibres. For more elegant designs, the Flora papers in 240 and 350 gsm work well.
Do colours on EKO papers look the same as on white coated stock?
No. The natural shade of the substrate affects printed colours, particularly light and pastel ones. The artwork is best prepared with a particular paper in mind, with legible typography and suitable contrast.
Is every print clearly visible on darker papers?
Not always. On substrates such as Kraftliner or Flora Tabacco, contrast matters especially. Very light colours, thin lines and small text can be less legible, so simpler, clearer designs work best.
What can EKO folded business cards be used for?
They can serve as business cards with an extended offer, loyalty, discount and stamp cards, mini vouchers, appointment cards, service cards, VIP cards, small price lists, mini folders, cards with a QR code or gift tags for parcels.
Is an EKO folded card suitable as a loyalty card?
Yes. The inner part can hold space for stamps, the rules of a programme or information about a reward, while the front keeps the logo and the company name. One card can therefore serve as both a business card and a loyalty card.
Can an EKO folded business card carry a QR code?
Yes. A QR code can lead to a website, a Google business profile, a portfolio or a map. It should be a suitable size, have clear contrast and sit a safe distance from both the edge and the fold line.
Can important texts sit at the fold line?
Better to avoid that. A logo, phone numbers, QR codes and small elements should sit a suitable distance from the crease. The fold can affect their look or legibility.
How do the file preparation variants differ?
There are three options: No checking, where a finished file goes straight into production, Checking by a graphic designer, covering a technical check of the artwork, and Simple graphic design if you have no finished file of your own. You choose the variant when placing the order.
What does file checking by a graphic designer cover?
The designer checks the technical preparation of the artwork for printing and folding: the format, bleed, distances from the trim and fold lines, the quality of the logo and graphics, the colour and the way the file is saved. The check does not cover substantive content, typos or the correctness of contact details. Those are the customer's responsibility.
