Pendrive ECO Bamboo - a natural material without giving up speed

Bamboo is a fast-renewing raw material. Some species grow very quickly and are ready for harvesting far sooner than many traditional timbers.

In the ECO Bamboo that material becomes the casing of a modern data carrier. No two pieces of bamboo are identical, so individual drives can differ in grain and slightly in shade. That is a natural property of the material, not a defect.

Inside is memory with a USB 3.2 gen.1 interface, on a bus supporting up to 5 Gb/s - considerably more comfortable with larger files than USB 2.0. Actual speed depends on the capacity, the memory used and the device the drive is connected to.

Where it fits

Personalisation

Two marking methods are available.

Laser engraving is the most natural-looking option for this model. The laser works directly into the bamboo surface, so no extra layer of print is added.

The shade of the engraving depends on the particular piece of material, so with natural bamboo small differences between individual drives are possible. Simple logotypes, symbols and short pieces of text look best.

UV printing is the answer when the logo has to keep its brand colours, or the design carries several colours, gradients or a photograph - full colour in CMYK.

On bamboo, colours can look a little different from how they appear on a pure white surface, because the natural shade and texture of the material affect them. In exchange, the product keeps the character of real wood rather than smooth plastic.

Preparing the engraving file

• a vector PDF,
• vector graphics only,
• monochrome artwork in black,
• no greyscale,
• no bleed,
• all text converted to curves.

The black elements mark the surfaces to be engraved.

Preparing the UV print file

• artwork in CMYK,
• file at 1:1 scale,
• photographs at a suitable resolution, ideally 300-600 dpi,
• text converted to curves,
• 3 mm bleed where the particular print area requires it.

Capacities

Match the capacity to what you actually need. For presentations and documents, 16 GB is usually ample. Choose 64 or 128 GB when the drive is to carry large video material or an extensive archive.
