Pendrive UVA - a slim form with real advantages

The UVA is noticeably narrower and flatter than many classic drives. It fits the small pocket of a conference folder, an organiser or a case where a thicker model would simply be awkward.

The casing is aluminium, available in graphite and navy. Both have a dark, glossy finish on which light laser engraving shows up well.

At the end of the casing there is a triangular eyelet, useful for a lanyard or a small ring - handy on a drive this size.

The UVA uses USB 2.0. For presentations, documents, PDF catalogues or photographs that is entirely sufficient. If the drive is meant for moving large files regularly, consider a model with USB 3.2 gen.1.

Where it fits

Conferences and B2B meetings, where it slips into a folder pocket or a notebook; welcome packs in small packaging, where every millimetre counts; fashion and lifestyle brands, where the plain narrow form suits the product design; press kits carrying a lookbook, press photos and short video; and notebooks, agendas and organisers, where a thicker drive would not sit comfortably.

Laser engraving

We mark the UVA with laser engraving. The laser works directly on the surface of the casing. The result is single-colour, durable and suits the plain form of this model.

On a graphite or navy casing, light engraving gives clear contrast. Because the marking field is narrow, simple designs work best:

• a logo,
• a company name,
• a short web address,
• a single line of text,
• a simple symbol.

Here less really is more. A horizontal logo, or a small mark with a short name, usually reads better than several small elements crowded together.

Preparing the engraving file

• a vector PDF,
• vector graphics only,
• monochrome artwork in black,
• no greyscale,
• no shadows or halftones,
• no bleed,
• text converted to curves,
• minimum text size around 5 pt.

Black elements mark the areas to be engraved.

If you are unsure whether your logo is vector, zoom in hard on screen: a vector stays sharp at any magnification.

A note on designing the engraving

The marking surface on the UVA is narrow, so a horizontal layout works best. One logo, a company name or a short line usually gives a better result than a busy composition.

If your mark has unusual proportions, our designer will fit it to the available field and prepare a proof before production.

Send your logo, preferably in vector form, along with any text that is to appear on the drive. We will lay it out and send it for approval.

The first version usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day. Production starts only once the design is approved.
