Prestige folded business cards - product details

Live online pricingNo hidden fees

Prestige folded business cards combine a larger surface for content with the character of decorative papers: pearlescent, metallic, felt-marked and textured. Folded they have the handy 90×50 mm format, and opened a 90×100 mm surface you can use for an offer, a QR code, a price list or space for stamps. The cards are creased and printed double-sided. We do not laminate, because here the decorative effect comes from the paper itself. The price for your chosen run and substrate is shown straight away in the calculator.

Prestige folded business cards - decorative paper and more room for content

A classic business card has little space. When, besides contact details, you want to show a few services, add a QR code, a small price list or fields for stamps, the folded form gives far more scope.

Closed, the card has the standard, convenient 90×50 mm format, so it fits easily into a wallet, case or card holder. Opened, you get a 90×100 mm surface that can be divided into several legible parts.

The Prestige version additionally stands out through its paper. Instead of standard coated stock we use decorative substrates with their own colour, structure and way of catching the light. That can be fine canvas, ribs, a felt-marked surface, a pearlescent sheen or a metallic shine.

This form suits hotels, restaurants, beauty salons, law firms, photographers, jewellers, boutiques, wedding brands, event companies and other brands for which presentation matters a great deal.

The folded format and more room for information

Two sheet formats are available:

  • 90×100 mm before folding, 90×50 mm after folding
  • 180×50 mm before folding, 90×50 mm after folding

Closed, the card stays as handy as a classic business card. Opened, it gives twice the surface, so it can act as a contact card and a small piece of information material at the same time.

The extra space can be used as:

  • An extended offer - a short description of services, the scope of your work or a small price list.
  • A QR code - leading to a website, a Google business profile, a portfolio, a contact form or a map.
  • A loyalty or stamp card - with fields for stamps and short programme rules.
  • An appointment card - with space for the date of the next visit, the time and the name of the specialist.
  • A discount card or mini voucher - with a discount code and the basic terms of a promotion.

One folded card can therefore replace several small pieces of material while, closed, taking up as little room as a classic card.

Creasing - an even fold line

Before folding we crease the card, that is make a precise groove where the fold will be.

That matters particularly with thicker and textured decorative papers. The crease sets the exact fold line, reduces the risk of the paper cracking and helps produce an even edge.

The card therefore opens and closes at the intended place, and the fold looks neat even on more demanding substrates.

Decorative papers - the most important element of this category

Prestige folded business cards are available on 17 decorative paper variants, grouped into several families. The substrates differ in colour, structure and the way they catch the light.

The full list of variants, shades and weights is directly in the calculator.

ICEBLINK

A paper in a cream shade with a delicate structure resembling canvas.

It has a calm, classic character and goes well with minimalist, elegant designs.

STARDREAM

A family of pearlescent and metallic papers:

  • OPAL - a delicate pearlescent sheen,
  • SILVER - a cool, metallic character,
  • CRYSTAL - a light, clean and subtle substrate,
  • GOLD - a strong, decorative metallic effect.

STARDREAM works well where the paper is to be one of the most visible elements of the whole design.

RIVES Shetland Natural

A paper with a natural look and a tangible structure, available in two weights.

The lighter version gives a more subtle effect, while the heavier one is stiffer and makes a more solid impression.

DALI

Papers with a delicate structure of thin ribs. They are available in several shades including beige, white, light grey, light corn and a deeper green.

They suit classic, decorative and more individual designs.

MODIGLIANI

Papers with a soft, felt-marked structure, available in several shades including white, ecru, corn and light grey.

Their surface goes well with simple, elegant and more artistic designs.

CHAGALL

A white felt-marked paper with a subtle texture. The light substrate is fairly versatile, but its tangible structure sets it apart from classic smooth coated stock.

When choosing, it is worth starting from the effect the finished card should give. STARDREAM provides pearlescence or a metallic sheen, ICEBLINK a canvas structure, RIVES a more natural character, DALI delicate ribs, and MODIGLIANI and CHAGALL a felt-marked surface.

The Prestige effect comes from the paper, not from film

We do not laminate Prestige folded business cards.

That is deliberate. The papers in this category have their own texture, pearlescence, metallic sheen or structure, which is worth leaving visible and tangible.

An additional layer of film would smooth the surface and change the way the paper is perceived in the hand. On felt-marked or ribbed papers it would cover part of the structure, and on metallic ones it would affect their characteristic way of catching the light.

So here the decorative finishing is provided by the substrate itself.

STARDREAM suits pearlescent and metallic designs, ICEBLINK a calm, classic style, RIVES a more natural character, DALI decorative ribs, and MODIGLIANI and CHAGALL where a felt-marked surface matters.

Double-sided printing - each part has its place

We print Prestige folded business cards double-sided, in full colour.

The folded form makes it easy to separate information:

  • The front - a logo, a name, the company name or the main message.
  • The inside, once opened - services, a small price list, space for stamps, a discount code or a schedule.
  • The back - contact details, a website address, a QR code, social media or a map.

That layout is far more legible than trying to fit everything onto one classic business card.

With Prestige papers it is worth leaving some free space. The colour, texture and sheen of the substrate are part of the design too, so there is no need to fill every part of the card with graphics or text.

Besides the classic business card function, this form can also serve as a mini folder, a VIP card, a service card, a card with a QR code or an elegant tag added to a parcel.

Preparing the file - three variants

When placing an order you choose one of three ways of preparing the artwork:

  • No checking - for agencies, designers and people confident that the file was correctly prepared for printing and folding. The artwork goes straight into production.
  • File checking by a graphic designer - we check the format, bleed, safe distances from the trim and fold lines, the quality of graphics, the colour and the way the file is saved. The check covers the technical preparation, not the content. The correctness of contact details and the other texts remains the customer's responsibility.
  • Simple graphic design - if you have no graphics of your own, send a logo, details, texts and basic guidance. We will prepare a simple, legible design matched to the folded format and the decorative paper chosen.

A technical check is particularly worth considering when the artwork was made in Canva, an online generator or an office editor. Such files can have problems with bleed, the format, the position of the fold line, embedded fonts or how the design suits the colour of the paper.

How to prepare the print file

With a folded business card it is best to start the design by downloading the technical specification and the template. You have to allow not only for the format and bleed but also for the fold position and the layout of the outer and inner parts of the design.

Best send a PDF prepared in line with the specification, in CMYK. Photographs and graphics should be at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale.

Pay attention to a few details:

  • add bleed if graphics or the background run to the edge,
  • keep the name, logo, phone number, QR code and other important elements away from the trim line,
  • keep a suitable margin from the fold line as well,
  • allow for the colour of the paper chosen, because it affects the look of the print,
  • on felt-marked and ribbed papers, avoid very small lettering and thin lines,
  • on metallic substrates, simpler, high-contrast designs work well,
  • prepare the QR code at a suitable size and with good contrast.

A cream, grey, gold, silver or pearlescent substrate affects the look of printed colours, so the design can look different than on white coated stock. It is best prepared with a particular paper in mind.

See the other folded business cards too

If you need a simpler version on classic papers, look at standard folded business cards.

An ECO version on natural papers with a kraft, ecological character is available too.

Prestige folded business cards are the variant intended above all for designs where the decorative paper is to play a large part.

FAQ

Prestige folded business cards - questions and answers

Need help? Contact us

What are Prestige folded business cards?

They are cards measuring 90×100 mm before folding and 90×50 mm after folding, printed on decorative papers. Depending on the variant the substrate can have a pearlescent or metallic sheen, a canvas structure, delicate ribs or a felt-marked surface. Opened, the card gives more room for an offer, a QR code, stamps or additional details.

How do they differ from ordinary folded business cards?

The main difference is the paper. Classic folded cards are made on standard papers or boards, while the Prestige version is printed on decorative substrates with their own texture, colour and often a sheen as well. If that effect is not needed, classic folded business cards can be chosen.

What is the format of a Prestige folded business card?

The format available is 90×100 mm folded to 90×50 mm. Closed, the card keeps a handy size and fits into a wallet or card holder, while opened it offers twice the surface for information.

What is creasing and why is it used?

Creasing means making a precise groove where the fold will be. It makes stiffer paper easier to fold evenly and reduces the risk of cracking or an uneven edge.

Are Prestige folded business cards printed on both sides?

Yes. We print the cards double-sided, in full colour. That lets you use the front, the back and the inner part visible once the card is opened.

Can Prestige folded business cards be laminated?

No. We do not laminate in this category. Prestige papers have their own structure, pearlescence or metallic sheen, so they look best without an additional layer. Film would change the surface and partly cover the features of the paper.

How many papers are there and where can I see the full list?

17 decorative paper variants are available, from the ICEBLINK, STARDREAM, RIVES, DALI, MODIGLIANI and CHAGALL families. They include canvas, pearlescent, metallic, ribbed and felt-marked substrates. The full names, shades, weights and prices are in the calculator.

How do the STARDREAM papers differ from one another?

STARDREAM is a family of pearlescent and metallic papers. OPAL gives a subtle pearlescent sheen, CRYSTAL is light and calmer, SILVER has a cool metallic character, and GOLD gives a stronger, more decorative effect. The choice depends on the style of the design.

Which paper should I choose for an elegant folded card?

For calm, classic elegance, ICEBLINK cream canvas, RIVES Shetland Natural, CHAGALL Bianco and the MODIGLIANI and DALI papers all suit well. If you want a stronger pearlescent or metallic effect, you can choose STARDREAM OPAL, CRYSTAL, SILVER or GOLD.

Which paper should I choose for a folded card with a natural character?

RIVES Shetland Natural, ICEBLINK cream canvas, MODIGLIANI bianco or camoscio and DALI camoscio are all good choices. They have a calmer, warmer character and go well with more natural or craft-led designs.

Are metallic papers suitable for every design?

Not always. They look best with simple, legible compositions with good contrast. They suit jewellery, beauty, hotel, event and other more presentable projects. With a lot of small text or very delicate photographs, another substrate may be better.

Do colours on Prestige papers look the same as on white coated stock?

No. The paper has its own shade, texture and sometimes a sheen, so it affects the look of the print. Cream, beige, grey, green, gold, silver and pearlescent substrates can change how colours read. The artwork is best prepared with a particular paper in mind.

What can Prestige folded business cards be used for?

They can serve as business cards with an extended offer, small folders, loyalty and discount cards, mini vouchers, appointment cards, stamp cards, service cards, VIP cards, material with a QR code, and elegant tags and thank-you notes added to orders.

Is a Prestige folded card suitable as a loyalty or appointment card?

Yes. The inner part can hold fields for stamps, the rules of a promotion or space for the date of the next visit, the time and the name of the specialist. That combines an elegant business card with a practical card the customer can keep for longer.

Can important elements sit at the fold line?

Better to avoid that. Phone numbers, logos, QR codes and other small or important elements should be kept away from the fold. Creasing and folding can affect their look or legibility, so it is worth leaving a suitable margin there.
