GRAND Classic pens - product details
GRAND Classic pens - A plastic promotional pen marked with full-colour digital UV printing. Printing can be done on one side of the barrel or on both. Minimum order 100 pieces. If you have no artwork ready, send your logo and text - we will prepare a simple design free of charge.
GRAND Classic - full-colour UV printing on the tallest field we offer
The GRAND Classic is a plain plastic pen with no surplus decoration, marked digitally in full-colour UV. The barrel is 149 mm long and 13 mm across, which makes it the thickest pen in our range.
That matters for the marking. The print area is 50.0×8.0 mm, and eight millimetres of height is the most of all our pens - the others give 6 mm or less. Those extra millimetres help particularly when a logo has a symbol, a name and a strapline stacked one under another: there is a better chance the whole stays legible without redrawing the mark into a horizontal version.

Full-colour UV printing
The ink is cured with UV light during printing, so the finished mark handles everyday use and contact with moisture and light, and needs no varnishing afterwards.
Unlike laser engraving on our metal pens, which is always single-colour, printing keeps a multi-colour logo, gradients and tonal transitions as designed.
One side or two
In the calculator you can choose one-sided or two-sided printing. One side usually covers a logo with the company name; the second is worth taking when you also want a web address, phone number or a short slogan. Two-sided printing costs more and needs two separate designs, one per side.
The file, the artwork and the proof
Prepare finished artwork in colour, in CMYK, at 1:1 scale, with text converted to curves.
No artwork ready? With an order placed with us we prepare it free of charge. E-mail your logo and the text that is to appear on the pen. Our designer will lay it out and send a proof for approval; production starts only once you accept it.

Quantity and ordering
The minimum order is 100 pieces, produced in multiples of 50. The price steps in the calculator are 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces, and the unit price falls as the quantity grows.
The lead time appears in the calculator once you choose a configuration, counted from your approval of the proof. The first version of the design usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day.

What sets the GRAND Classic apart from your other plastic pens?
Above all its classic shape and the freedom it gives you in marking. The barrel is plain, with no surplus decoration, and the printing is done digitally in full-colour UV, on one side or both. A good model when the pen should look tidy and your logo is meant to be the main element.
How many colours does the GRAND Classic come in?
The current versions are shown in the calculator on this page. We do not list them permanently in the description, because availability of individual colours can change.

What are the dimensions of the GRAND?

How large is the print area?

Can the GRAND be printed on both sides?
Yes. Choose two-sided printing in the calculator. It costs more and needs two separate designs, one for each side.
How does the GRAND Classic differ from the EVE?
In shape and in the marking options. The EVE has a triangular cross-section and is available with one-sided printing only. The GRAND has a classic round barrel, is considerably thicker, and can be printed on one side or both.
What is the difference between UV printing and engraving on metal pens?
Printing puts ink on the surface in full CMYK, so a multi-colour logo, gradients and tonal transitions survive. Laser engraving removes the top layer of a metal barrel and exposes the metal beneath, which makes the mark very durable but always single-colour.
How many colours can I use in the design?
There is no need to limit it. We print in full CMYK, so a multi-colour logo, gradients and tonal transitions are all possible.
How should the print file be prepared?
In colour, in CMYK, at 1:1 scale, with text converted to curves. For two-sided printing, prepare two separate designs.
I have no artwork - what then?
With an order placed with us we prepare it free of charge. E-mail your logo and the text for the pen; our designer will lay it out and send a proof for approval.
What is the minimum order?
100 pieces, in multiples of 50. The price steps in the calculator are 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces.
Why does the calculator change the quantity I enter?
Pens are produced in multiples of 50, so any other figure is rounded up to the nearest full multiple. You immediately see the price for the quantity that will actually be produced.
Will the print survive everyday use?
The ink is cured with UV light during printing, so the finished mark handles normal use and contact with moisture and light, and needs no additional varnish.
When does the lead time start?
From your approval of the proof, not from the day the order is placed. The current lead time appears in the calculator once you choose a configuration.
My logo only exists as a JPG or PNG. Is that enough?
For printing it can be, provided the file is good quality and large enough - printing reproduces raster images, unlike engraving. Send what you have and we will check whether it holds up at the size of the print area.
My logo is vertical, with the name under the symbol. How will it come out?
This is the model that handles it best. At 8 mm the field is the tallest we offer, so a symbol with a name and a strapline beneath has a better chance of staying legible without being redrawn horizontally. You will see the arrangement on the proof before production.
