SM-3 lighters - A piezo lighter with a white body and silver head, marked with full-colour digital UV printing. More contemporary styling than the base EB-15, but the same 77×22 mm size and the same 52.0×13.0 mm print area. Refillable with gas. Minimum order 100 pieces.

SM-3 lighter - updated styling, same size

The SM-3 uses piezo ignition: press the button, the piezo element makes a spark and lights the gas. There is no wheel and flint of the kind used in the NM-1.

The body is white plastic, the head is silver, and the whole lighter measures 77×22 mm.

That is worth stating plainly, because the SM-3 is sometimes taken for a narrower or slimmer model than the EB-15. It is not - both have identical dimensions and an identical print area. The difference is the shape of the casing, the details and the finish.

So if the base EB-15 looks too classic to you, but you do not need a torch or an opener, the SM-3 is the straightforward alternative with a more modern look.

SM-3, EB-15 or NM-1?

NM-1 - our simplest lighter. Flint ignition, 87×20 mm, cannot be refilled.

EB-15 - classic piezo build, 77×22 mm, white body and white head, refill valve.

SM-3 - piezo as well, 77×22 mm, refillable; differs in styling and the silver head.

If price decides, start with the NM-1. For a classic piezo shape, take the EB-15. The SM-3 fits when you want a similar budget with a more contemporary look.

Where it fits

Bars, pubs and restaurants; outdoor events; trade fairs and industry meetings; petrol stations, kiosks and shops - including own-brand lighters; welcome packs for new staff, subcontractors or partners.

Full-colour digital UV printing

We mark the SM-3 with digital UV printing in UV LED technology. Artwork goes straight onto the white body in full CMYK.

You can use:

  • multi-colour logos,
  • gradients,
  • tonal transitions,
  • shading,
  • photographs,
  • more elaborate graphics.

No plates, screens or moulds are needed - once the file is ready, it goes to the press.

The ink is cured with UV light during printing, so the finished mark handles everyday use and contact with water, moisture and light, without varnishing or extra drying. UV LED also limits how much the item heats up.

We print on Japanese machines built for precise marking of small surfaces; the fine ink drop keeps small elements sharp. That said, it is not worth shrinking type to the limit - a phone number, web address or company details need to stay comfortable to read.

One side or two?

In the calculator:

  • UV printing, one side,
  • UV printing, two sides.

One side usually covers a logo, a company name or a short slogan. Use the second for a web address, phone number, QR code, contact details or an extra line.

The two-sided version costs more and the difference shows in the calculator. Prepare two separate files, one per side. If the whole design fits comfortably on one side, there is no reason to pay for the second.

Print area 52.0×13.0 mm

The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm - exactly the same field as on the base EB-15, so artwork prepared for one model usually transfers to the other without resizing.

The field is long and fairly shallow, so simple horizontal layouts work best:

  • logo and web address,
  • logo with a short slogan,
  • company mark and phone number.

With more to say, use the second side rather than shrinking the type.

Preparing the print file

  • scale 1:1,
  • PDF or TIF,
  • CMYK,
  • 600 dpi for raster elements,
  • text converted to curves,
  • within the 52.0×13.0 mm area.

Two-sided printing needs two separate files.

Check every line, phone number and address before sending - on a larger run, one small typo repeats on every piece.

Free graphic design

No artwork ready? With an order placed with us we prepare a simple design free of charge. Send:

  • your logo, preferably vector,
  • a CDR file up to X6, EPS or AI up to CS6,
  • or a TIF or good-quality JPG,
  • all the text that is to appear on the lighter.

First version usually within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day. Production starts once you approve the proof.

FAQ

SM-3 lighters - questions and answers

Need help? Contact us

How does the SM-3 differ from your other lighters?

The SM-3 is a piezo model with more contemporary styling than the base EB-15. Against the NM-1, the main difference is ignition: the SM-3 fires from a button, the NM-1 has a classic wheel and flint. Against the EB-15, it differs in the shape of the casing, the finish and the silver head instead of a white one. Dimensions and print area are the same for the SM-3 and the EB-15.

Is the SM-3 slimmer or smaller than the EB-15?

No. Both measure exactly 77×22 mm with a 52.0×13.0 mm marking area. The difference is appearance and finish, not size. If older descriptions of the SM-3 mentioned a slimmer build, that was not correct.

How does ignition work on the SM-3?

The SM-3 has piezo ignition. Press the button and the piezo element makes a spark that lights the gas. There is no wheel to roll as on a classic flint lighter. If you prefer that traditional mechanism, look at the NM-1.

Can the SM-3 be refilled with gas?

Yes. The model has a valve for topping up the gas once it runs out. That is one practical difference from the NM-1, which is not built for refilling.

How much room is there for the design?

The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm - the same size as on the EB-15, so artwork prepared for that model works here too. On a field like this a simple layout works best: logo with a short web address, a phone number or a single slogan. With more information, consider two-sided printing rather than shrinking the type.

What colours are the body and head?

The SM-3 comes in one colour version: a white body with a silver head / clip. We print on the white body, which suits multi-colour CMYK artwork. If you want a coloured head, look at the EB-15 COLOUR.

Does the SM-3 have a torch or an opener?

No - it is a lighter with no extra features. A torch comes with the EB-15 LED, an opener with the EB-15 OPENER and the NM-1 OPENER. On the SM-3 nothing takes up the casing, so the full print area stays available.

What printing method do you use and how many colours can I have?

Full-colour digital UV printing in UV LED technology. The design is printed straight onto the white casing in CMYK, so there is no need to reduce it to a few colours. Photographs, gradients, tonal transitions and shading all work. No separate plates, screens or printing forms are involved.

Is the print durable?

The ink is cured with UV light during printing. The finished mark handles everyday use and contact with water, moisture and light, and needs no varnish or drying afterwards.

Will small text and contact details stay legible?

The process reproduces small elements with good precision, but it is not always wise to use the smallest possible type. A phone number, address or website should stay easy to read. If there is a lot to fit, simplify the design or move part of it to the second side.

When is two-sided printing worth it?

When you want to split information between the sides - a logo on one, and on the other, for example:

  • a web address,
  • a phone number,
  • contact details,
  • a QR code,
  • a campaign slogan.

The two-sided version costs more; you will see the difference in the calculator. It needs two separate files.

How should the print file be prepared?

At 1:1 scale, as a PDF or TIF, in CMYK. For raster elements we recommend 600 dpi, with all text converted to curves. Two-sided printing needs two separate files. Please also check that all wording and contact details are correct before sending.

I have no design ready - will you prepare one?

Yes. With an order placed with us, a simple print design is free of charge. Send the logo as a CDR file up to X6, EPS or AI up to CS6. If you have no vector, a TIF or good-quality JPG will do. Include all the text that is to appear on the lighter. We prepare the first version within 1-2 working days, and each further round of changes adds one working day.

What is the minimum order, and where do I check the price and lead time?

The minimum run is 100 pieces; the next steps are 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces. The larger the order, the lower the price per lighter. The calculator shows the current price and lead time once you pick a configuration. We count the lead time from your approval of the production proof.

Does the lighter meet safety standards?

Yes. The SM-3 meets EN 13869 and ISO 9994:2006 and has a child-resistant mechanism. The same requirements apply to every lighter in our range.
