Pyramid table presenters - Tent card talkers are standing advertising pieces with full-colour printing that you can put on a table, a counter, a reception desk or a worktop. Two advertising surfaces let you show the offer of the day, a menu, a promotion, a QR code or another short message from both sides. You choose the format, the finish and the run size, and the price of the configuration you choose appears straight away in the calculator above.

A tent card, also called a topper, forms a stable standing talker with two visible faces once folded. It is a simple answer anywhere the customer is sitting or standing close to the table and has a moment to look at a short message.

In a restaurant that might be the menu of the day, in a café a seasonal coffee, in a hotel information about breakfast, and at reception a QR code leading to bookings. The message stays in view the whole time and needs no extra leaflets handed out and no help from the staff.

Tent cards work in restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels, service salons, receptions and points of sale. In the calculator you choose the format, the finish and the run size, and you prepare the design for two advertising surfaces.

What you can use tent cards for

A tent card has two display surfaces. You can put the same message on both so it is visible from either side of the table, or use each face differently.

The most common uses are:

  • A menu or offer on the table - the dish of the day, a set lunch, a seasonal menu, a cocktail list, a dessert card, happy hours or the brunch offer. The guest sees the message as soon as they sit down.
  • A promotion or special offer - the promotion of the day, a weekend offer, a new product, a seasonal coffee or the cocktail of the month. On a small surface, one clear message per face works best.
  • A QR code within reach - leading to the menu online, bookings, ordering, Google reviews or social media. The standing form keeps the code somewhere clearly visible.
  • A table number or practical notice - a table marking, a note about a reservation, short instructions for guests or an important message from the venue.
  • Reception and hotels - breakfast hours, the spa, room service, the hotel restaurant, extra services or a QR code to the guest panel.
  • Service points - a short price list, treatment packages, the promotion of the month, a referral scheme, a QR code for online booking or news of a new service.

In food service, tent cards can promote dishes of the day, set lunches, desserts, cocktails, wines, craft beers or the breakfast menu. In hotels they help with information about extra services and the current offer. In salons, shops and service points you can use them to present discounts, new services, packages or QR codes.

Where to put tent cards

Tent cards take up little room and are easy to place exactly where the customer can read the message.

They work in:

  • restaurants, cafés and bars - on tables, at the till and on the counter,
  • hotels, guesthouses and apartments - at reception, in the lobby, at breakfast, in the rooms, in the spa and in meeting rooms,
  • beauty salons, clinics and service points - at the service station and at reception,
  • shops, showrooms and customer service offices - on the sales counter and the desk,
  • at trade fairs, conferences, training sessions and events - as a small piece of information or advertising standing on a table.

Which format to choose

The calculator offers two sizes. The marking means two advertising surfaces.

  • Tent card small - 2×145×120 mm - the compact version for a table, counter or reception desk. It suits a short message, a QR code, news of a discount, social media, Google reviews, a single promotion or a small cocktail list. It works especially where there is little room on the surface.
  • Tent card standard - 2×200×120 mm - gives more space for text and artwork. You can use it for a short menu, the lunch offer, a dessert card, hotel information or a design combining a photograph, text and a QR code on one face.

If you have more information, it is better to split it between the two surfaces or move some of the detail to the page behind a QR code. A tent card does its job best when each face has one main, easily noticed message.

Arktika GC1 300 gsm board

We print tent cards on:

  • Arktika GC1 300 gsm board - a stiff, attractive stock well suited to standing advertising pieces.

The board gives the finished structure the stability it needs. Once folded, the tent card holds its form well on a table, counter, reception desk or other surface.

Arktika GC1 300 gsm works wherever the message should look tidier and more distinguished than an ordinary sheet or a loose leaflet. It suits restaurants, hotels, cafés, service salons, receptions and points of sale.

Printing and finishing

We print tent cards on one side in full colour on the surfaces visible once the talker is folded and standing.

The design can carry photographs, artwork, a logo, text, prices, QR codes, icons and the other elements of your visual identity.

With two faces, planning the message well matters. A clear headline, short text, the right contrast and one main message per side let the information be read quickly, even from some distance.

Lamination is a standard part of the finish. There are three types of film to choose from:

  • Gloss lamination - strengthens colours and contrast. It suits vivid artwork, product photographs, colourful backgrounds and adverts for drinks, desserts or events.
  • Matte lamination - gives a calmer, elegant, professional look. It works in restaurants, hotels, cafés, receptions and salons with a more restrained style.
  • Soft-touch lamination - creates a soft surface that is pleasant to the touch. It suits boutique hotels, premium restaurants, spas, beauty salons, clinics and brands with a more exclusive character.

A tent card is a working item that gets handled and moved regularly and stays on a table or counter for a long while. On more representative pieces, matte or soft-touch film is worth considering.

File check and graphic design

When you place the order you choose one of the file preparation options:

  • No file check - for agencies, designers and anyone confident their design is technically correct. The file goes into production without further control.
  • File check by a designer - we check the format, bleed, safe distances, image quality, colours and how the file was saved. On tent cards we also check the layout of the two faces, the folding and creasing lines, the orientation of the design and whether important content is set back from the edges and the folds.
  • Simple graphic design - if you have no file ready, send us your logo, the text, the offer, prices, contact details, a QR code, photographs or your basic guidelines. We will prepare a simple design matched to the format, board, printing and finish you chose.

The technical check is worth choosing especially if the design was made in Canva, an online generator, an office program, a presentation app or with AI tools. Such files can look good on screen and still need the format, bleed, CMYK, resolution, fold lines or safe margins adjusted.

The technical check does not cover the content. We do not check typos, prices, dates, numbers, discount codes, contact details, QR codes, terms or whether the information matches your offer or the regulations. The customer is responsible for the content.

How to prepare the file for print

  • File format - a PDF that follows our specification is best. We also accept good quality JPG and PNG files.
  • Resolution and colours - prepare photographs and raster artwork at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale, and the whole design in CMYK.
  • Bleed and margins - if artwork runs to the edge, add the right amount of bleed. Move the logo, text, prices, QR code, contact details and slogans away both from the edge and from the fold lines.
  • The product template - use the specification or the right template. The design has to allow for the two advertising surfaces, the direction they face, the crease lines, the fold and how the finished tent card will look once it is standing.
  • Legibility from a distance - use clear headlines, short text and legible prices. The QR code should be large enough and contrast well with the background. A larger amount of information is best split between the two faces, or some of the detail moved behind the QR code.
  • Check the content before sending - review the prices, the dates of promotions, whether the QR codes work, the contact details, the names of services and the website address. Our site also has a section on preparing designs and the most common mistakes.

Need help? Contact us

What are tent card talkers?

They are standing advertising and information pieces in the form of a tent card or topper. You put them on a table, a counter, a reception desk or another worktop. They have two advertising surfaces where you can put an offer, a promotion, a menu, a table number, a QR code or another message for customers.

Which tent card formats are available?

There are two versions: tent card small 2×145×120 mm and tent card standard 2×200×120 mm. The 2× marking tells you there are two advertising surfaces.

How does the small tent card differ from the standard one?

The small tent card is more compact and works well with short messages, QR codes and small tables. The standard version gives more room for text, a photograph, artwork, an offer and extra information.

Which paper are tent cards printed on?

We make the talkers on Arktika GC1 300 gsm board. It is a stiff, attractive stock well suited to standing advertising pieces.

Does a tent card have two advertising surfaces?

Yes. There are two faces available. You can put the same message on both or prepare two different designs, for instance a promotion on one side and a QR code leading to the full offer on the other.

Where can tent cards be used?

They work in restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels, receptions, beauty salons, clinics, points of sale, showrooms and customer service offices, and at trade fairs and events.

What can go on a tent card?

It can carry a logo, a seasonal menu, a promotion, a QR code, a special offer, a cocktail list, a dessert card, a table number, information about the spa, room service, a loyalty scheme, online booking, Google reviews or a current event.

Can a tent card serve as a table menu?

Yes. It can work as a small menu, a promotions card, a cocktail or dessert list, a lunch menu or a note about the seasonal offer.

What printing do tent cards have?

Printing is single-sided, in full colour, on the surfaces visible once the talker is folded and standing. That lets you use both faces turned towards customers.

Which lamination should I choose for a tent card?

Tent cards are laminated as standard. Gloss film strengthens colours and suits photographs and vivid artwork. Matte gives a calmer, more elegant effect. Soft touch has a soft, velvety surface and works on more representative designs.

Are tent cards suitable for hotels?

Yes. You can put them at reception, in the lobby, in the hotel restaurant, in the rooms, in the spa, in meeting rooms or at breakfast. They can carry room service, breakfast hours, the restaurant, extra services or a special offer, or lead guests by QR code to the guest panel.

Can a QR code go on a tent card?

Yes. A QR code can go on one face or both. It should be a suitable size, have good contrast and sit somewhere convenient to scan.

Can I prepare the design in Canva?

Yes. With a design like that, though, it is worth choosing the technical check by a designer. Files from Canva, online generators, office programs or AI tools may need the format, bleed, fold lines, CMYK, resolution and safe margins adjusted.

Do I have to use the product template?

Yes. With tent cards it is best to prepare the design from the right specification or template. It has to allow for the two advertising surfaces, the crease lines, the direction of the fold, the bleed and the safe margins.

Does the file check cover the content, prices and QR codes?

No. The designer reviews the technical preparation of the design for print, but does not check the content, typos, prices, promotion dates, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, QR codes, terms or whether the information matches your offer or the regulations. The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the content.

Can you prepare a simple tent card design?

Yes. You can choose the simple graphic design option. Send us your logo, the content, the offer, prices, contact details, a QR code, photographs or your basic guidelines, and we will prepare a design matched to the tent card format you chose.

Which trades are tent cards a good choice for?

They work in food service, hospitality, beauty salons, clinics, receptions, shops, showrooms, service points and sales offices, and at trade fairs and events. In practice you can use them anywhere the information should be clearly visible on a table or counter.
