REY metal pens - A metal pen marked with laser engraving, available in seven colours and with one of the larger marking fields in our range - 70.0×6.0 mm. The palette leans dark: black, dark blue, navy and dark green, rounded out with turquoise, red and orange. Engraving on one or two sides; minimum order 100 pieces.
REY - a darker palette and a generous engraving field
The REY differs from most of our pens in its colours. Where other models lead with bright shades, this one is built around darker tones: black, dark blue, navy and dark green, with turquoise, red and orange alongside them.
Two separate shades of blue in one palette is unusual, and useful when a pen has to match a specific corporate colour.
Dimensions and engraving field
The REY is 135 mm long and 10 mm across. The marking area is 70.0×6.0 mm, making it one of the largest single engraving fields we offer - only the MOOI, at 75.0×6.0 mm, gives more.
At that length you can afford a fuller design than on the slim models. A complete company name, including its legal form, fits alongside a simple symbol, and often a web address as well. There is no need to abbreviate the name or shrink the letters to the edge of legibility.

Laser engraving
The laser removes the top layer of the barrel surface and exposes the lighter metal beneath. Nothing is applied on top, so there is no ink to peel or rub away - the mark is part of the barrel and lasts as long as the pen.
Engraving is single-colour: the laser exposes metal rather than printing colour, so a multi-colour logo appears in one tone. On the REY's darker barrels that works in your favour - the light mark contrasts strongly and reads from a distance.
Artwork at no extra charge
Have a logo ready? Send it in vector format with text converted to curves. Engraving works on shapes, so that gives the cleanest, most predictable result.
No artwork? We prepare it free of charge with an order placed with us. E-mail your logo and the text that is to appear on the pen. We will send a proof for approval and correct anything that needs changing before production.
Quantity and lead times
The minimum order is 100 pieces, produced in multiples of 50. The price steps in the calculator are 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces, and the unit price falls as the quantity grows.
The lead time appears in the calculator once you choose a configuration, counted from the start of production. The first version of the design usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day.

What colours is the REY available in?
Seven: black, dark blue, navy, dark green, red, turquoise and orange. The palette leans towards darker tones, with turquoise, red and orange as the brighter accents.
How does the REY differ from your other newer pens?
What is the difference between dark blue and navy?
They are two separate shades from the manufacturer's palette, both in the darker range of blue. If you are matching the pen to a specific corporate colour, write to us before ordering and we will help judge which one comes closer to your reference.
Does the barrel colour affect the price?
No. The price depends on the quantity and on whether you choose one-sided or two-sided engraving.
What are the dimensions of the REY?

How large is the engraving field?

Is the engraving clearly visible on a dark barrel?
Yes - in fact that is where it shows best. The laser exposes lighter metal beneath the surface, so on black, navy or dark green the mark contrasts strongly and reads from a distance.
Does the engraving rub off?
No. It is not a print or an added layer: the laser removes part of the surface and exposes the metal, so the mark becomes part of the barrel. Water will not wash it off and everyday carrying will not wear it away.
Can the REY be engraved on both sides?
Yes. Choose "Two-sided engraving" in the calculator. Each side then has its own field, which helps when you want a logo and contact details kept apart. The two-sided version costs more; the difference shows in the calculator.

How long does production take?
The lead time appears in the calculator once you choose a configuration, counted from the start of production. If the pens are needed for a specific date, order early or confirm the date with us by e-mail.
Is there an extra charge for the artwork?
No. With an order placed with us we prepare simple artwork free of charge. E-mail your logo and the text for the pen; we will send a proof for approval.
How should the file be prepared?
Send the logo in vector format, in black, with text converted to curves. Engraving works on shapes, so avoid photographs and greyscale - halftones cannot be reproduced. If you only have a JPG or PNG, send it as well and we will check whether it can be used. If the logo has to be redrawn as vector artwork, that is a separate, paid service quoted individually. The pen artwork itself - arranging the logo and text in the marking field - stays free of charge.
Will I see a proof before production?
Yes. We always send a proof for approval, so you can check the placement and size of the logo and text. Production starts only once you accept it.
What colour is the refill?
Blue as standard. If you need a different colour, mention it with your order - we will check availability for this model and confirm before production.
What is the barrel made of?
Metal, which is why we mark it with a laser. Our metal pens are engraved; plastic models are marked with full-colour UV printing instead.
