Advertising pads and notepads - practical company material

Glued pads and advertising notepads are among the materials that really do come in useful every day. They are used by companies, offices, surgeries, hotels, restaurants, shops and customer service points.

You can quickly write down information on them, leave a note for a customer or member of staff, fill in a form or take an order. A pad with a logo can also work as a simple company giveaway that stays on a desk for a long time. It is used every day and, along the way, keeps reminding people of the company's name and brand.

A pad is made from a set of sheets glued along the top edge. Each one can be torn off easily without the rest scattering. That construction is convenient on a desk, at a counter, at reception and during face-to-face service.

Pad formats - from a small notepad to A4

Eight formats are available, so the pad can be matched to how it will be used in daily work.

• A6 (105×148 mm) - a small, handy format for short notes, jottings and information cards. It works well at reception, in a shop or a surgery.
• A5 (148×210 mm) - very versatile. It can serve as a company notepad, a form, a consultation card, a checklist or an order sheet.
• A4 (210×297 mm) - a large surface for extensive forms, consents, surveys, reports and documents that need plenty of room for entering data by hand.
• DL (99×210 mm) - a narrow, convenient format that suits order pads, hotel cards and forms handed to customers.
• 70×80 mm - a small notepad for quick jottings, phone numbers, reminders and short messages at a workstation.
• 70×160 mm - a slim format for lists, orders, waiter's notes and checklists. Easy to keep to hand at a counter or while working away from the office.
• 100×100 mm - a square notepad with a simple, modern shape. It suits everyday notes and works as a small piece of advertising material.
• 150×150 mm - a larger square format. It gives more room for content while keeping its distinctive shape.

Papers that are comfortable to write on

We print pads on offset papers. Their surface takes a ballpoint pen, a pencil, a fineliner and rubber stamps well, much like ordinary office paper.

That matters a great deal for a product meant above all to be practical and comfortable to fill in every day.

The options are:

• Offset 80 gsm - classic, light and economical office paper. Most often chosen for standard notepads, forms and larger runs.
• Offset 90 gsm - a little thicker and more solid. Good if the pad should make a slightly better impression while staying comfortable for everyday writing.
• Offset 120 gsm - noticeably stiffer and more presentable. It suits forms for customers, documents for signing, consultation cards and material with a more formal character.

All these papers are comfortable to write on by hand, so whatever weight you choose the pad stays functional.

Single- or double-sided printing

You can choose one of two variants:

• Single-sided printing - most often used for classic notepads, simple forms, task lists, order pads and company notes filled in on one side only.
• Double-sided printing - useful when one sheet needs more room for information. That can be a form with instructions on the back, a consent, terms and conditions, a survey or a document with additional fields to fill in.

Sheets per pad - 25, 50 or 100

It is best to match the thickness of the pad to how often and for what it will be used.

• 25 sheets - a light, thin variant for short-term material, conference notepads, one-off forms and promotional campaigns.
• 50 sheets - the most versatile and frequently chosen version. It works well in offices, surgeries, shops, restaurants and receptions.
• 100 sheets - a thicker, longer-lasting pad for frequent use. Good for order pads, working forms and notepads used every day.

What you can use pads and notepads for

Glued pads are convenient wherever one sheet has to be torn off quickly and handed to a customer or a member of staff, or added to documentation.

They are most often ordered as:

• company and advertising notepads with a logo,
• order pads and waiter's notepads,
• work cards, control lists and checklists,
• company forms and information cards for customers,
• hotel notepads, conference notepads and training material,
• internal forms and confirmations.

They work well at a desk, a counter, at reception and at a customer service point, and equally while working away from the office.

If you need a similar form for entry control, settlements or handing out successive forms by hand, look also at entry tickets padded into blocks. They work on the same principle.

Preparing the file - three variants to choose from

When placing an order you can decide how we should handle your file.

• No checking - a variant for agencies, designers and people confident that the artwork is prepared correctly. The file goes straight into production with no additional check.
• File checking by a graphic designer - a good choice if you are not sure whether the artwork was prepared correctly on the technical side. The designer will check the format, bleed, safe distances from the trim line, the quality of graphics, the colour and the way the file is saved, among other things. The check covers the technical side. It does not cover the content of forms, the correctness of data or whether documents comply with regulations. Those are the customer's responsibility.
• Simple graphic design - if you do not yet have a finished file, send your logo, company details, content and guidance. On that basis we will prepare a simple notepad or form design matched to the chosen format.

How to prepare the print file

When designing a pad it is worth remembering that someone will later write on it.

Very dark backgrounds, too much decoration or strong graphics placed where data is to be entered can make daily work harder. Better to leave plenty of free space and keep the layout clear and orderly.

The basic rules:

• prepare the artwork in CMYK,
• prepare photographs and graphics at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale,
• best send a PDF file in line with our specification; we also accept good quality JPG and PNG,
• if the background runs to the edge, add suitable bleed,
• keep important texts and elements away from the trim line,
• do not place signatures, fields to fill in or important information too close to the top, glued edge,
• convert texts to outlines or embed fonts correctly,
• before sending, check the quality of the logo and the other graphic elements.

Well-prepared artwork gives a pad that is not only attractive but above all convenient to use every day.
