EKO business cards are a more natural, distinctive version of the classic company card. Here the paper is not just a background for the design. Its shade, structure and surface become part of the whole composition.

Brown Kraftliner, light Kazan with visible grass fibres and the Flora papers have a completely different character from standard white coated stock. Even a simple design built on a logo and a few contact details can look more individual as a result.

Such cards suit brands that want to underline a natural, local, craft or ecological character. They are readily chosen by handmade businesses, art studios, florists, beauty salons, agritourism farms, hotels, restaurants, makers of natural cosmetics and regional products, and by interior designers and small boutique brands.

Two convenient formats

We print EKO business cards in two popular sizes. Both fit easily into a wallet, a case or a card holder.

• 90×50 mm - the classic and most frequently chosen card format. It gives enough room for a logo, a name, a job title, a phone number, an email address, a website, social media or a QR code. It also works well as a contact or discount card.
• 85×55 mm - a slightly more compact format with proportions close to a payment card. It suits orderly, minimalist and more modern designs.

Ecological papers to choose from

The most important element of EKO business cards is the paper itself. The variants differ in weight, colour and surface, so it is worth matching them to the style of the brand and the design.

Kraftliner 300 gsm

Kraftliner 300 gsm is a stiff paper with a distinct brown colour and kraft character.

It suits ecological, craft, local and handmade brands. Simple designs with strong contrast, legible typography and expressive graphic elements look best on it.

Because of the brown substrate it is not a suitable choice for designs that need a perfectly white background or very light, pastel colours.

Kazan ecru 250 gsm with grass fibres

A light, warm ecru paper with visible grass fibres. It has a natural, slightly organic look.

It goes well with brands connected to healthy food, natural cosmetics, local products, craft work or a zero-waste style.

Kazan ecru 300 gsm with grass fibres

It keeps the same natural character and visible grass fibres but is stiffer than the 250 gsm version.

A good choice when a card should stay natural while making a more solid, presentable impression.

Flora Avorio 240 gsm

A light, cream paper with a calm, elegant character.

It suits cards for beauty salons, hotels, restaurants, boutiques, art studios and wedding brands. It looks good with more delicate, orderly designs.

Flora Giglio 240 gsm

A paper with a warm, natural look. It goes well with handmade brands, florists, local businesses and designs with a more organic style.

Flora Tabacco 240 gsm

A darker, more expressive substrate with a natural character. It can give a card a stronger, more individual look.

With this paper the choice of colours matters especially. Legible typography, strong contrast and simpler graphics work best.

Flora Giglio 350 gsm and Flora Tabacco 350 gsm

These are thicker, stiffer versions of the Flora papers.

They combine the natural character of the substrate with a more solid form. They work well when a card should be noticeably stiffer and more presentable.

Remember that the natural colour of the paper affects the look of the print. Light and pastel colours can look different than on white coated stock. Designs with suitable contrast, prepared with a particular substrate shade in mind, come out best.

A natural finish instead of film

We do not laminate EKO business cards.

That is a deliberate feature of this category. What matters here is the paper - its colour, texture and the way it feels in the hand. An additional layer of film would smooth the surface and change the natural character of the chosen substrate.

If you want a stiffer card, choose a heavier paper instead of lamination - Kazan 300 gsm, Flora Giglio 350 gsm, Flora Tabacco 350 gsm or Kraftliner 300 gsm.

The card then stays natural while taking on a more solid form.

Single- or double-sided printing

Two printing variants are available:

• Single-sided - full-colour printing on one side. It works for simple designs where a logo, the company name, a person's name and basic contact details are enough.
• Double-sided - lets you split the content across two sides. The front can carry a logo or a slogan, and the back the contact details, a QR code, social media or the range of services.

With natural papers it is good to leave the design some space and not overload it with small elements. The paper then stays a visible part of the card.

Preparing the file - three options

When placing an order you choose one of three ways of preparing the artwork:

• No checking - the file goes straight into production with no additional check. A variant for agencies, designers and people confident that the artwork was correctly prepared on the technical side.
• File checking by a graphic designer - we check the format, bleed, safe distances from the trim line, the quality of graphics, the colour and the way the file is saved. The check does not cover the content, that is typos, the correctness of contact details, phone numbers or QR codes. That information is the customer's responsibility.
• Simple graphic design - if you have no finished file, send a logo, contact details and basic guidance. We will prepare a simple, legible design matched to the chosen format and the character of the EKO paper.

A technical check can be particularly useful for artwork prepared in Canva, an online generator or with AI tools. Such files sometimes have problems with the format, bleed, embedded fonts or the quality of the logo.

With EKO papers it is also worth paying attention to how legible the design is on a particular substrate colour.

How to prepare the print file

Before starting the design it is best to download the technical specification and the template for the chosen format. That makes it easier to keep the correct trimmed size, bleed and safe distances from the trim line.

• File format - best send a PDF prepared in line with the specification. We also accept good quality JPG and PNG files.
• Resolution - photographs and graphics should be at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale.
• Colour - prepare the artwork in CMYK.
• Bleed - if the background or graphics run to the edge, add a suitable allowance beyond the trim line.
• Safe margins - keep the logo, phone number, email address, QR code and other important elements away from the edge.
• Legibility - avoid very small letters, exceptionally thin typefaces and weak contrast. That matters especially on darker papers such as Kraftliner or Flora Tabacco.
