NM-1 lighters - product details
NM-1 lighters - Classic flint-wheel ignition, a slim 87×20 mm body and a white surface ready for full-colour UV printing. There is no refill valve. It is the simplest lighter in our range, so it works best where unit cost and larger quantities matter most.
NM-1 lighter - a simple model with classic ignition
The NM-1 works exactly like a classic flint lighter. You roll the knurled wheel with your thumb, a spark appears and the gas lights.
That is one of the key differences from the EB-15, SM-3 and 9755206 models, which use piezo ignition fired by a button.
The shape is different too. The NM-1 measures 87×20 mm, so it is longer and narrower than the 77×22 mm models. Despite the slimmer body, the print area stays large at 52.0×13.0 mm.
A third difference matters just as much: the NM-1 has no gas refill valve. Once it runs out, it cannot be refilled. In that sense it is a single-use model.
The NM-1 OPENER shares the same construction. Other models, such as the EB-15 or SM-3, can be refilled.
In return, the NM-1 has the simplest build of any lighter we offer, which is exactly why it suits larger promotional campaigns where unit cost matters.
Where the NM-1 works best
Bars, pubs and restaurants It can sit on the bar, go out with the bill or be handed to regulars.
Concerts, festivals and outdoor events With a large audience, the cost per piece is what counts. The NM-1 fits campaigns where hundreds of lighters are given away.
Trade fairs and conferences A small branded item can go into the company pack or be handed out at the stand.
Shops and service points It works as a free gift with a purchase, an extra in the parcel or a simple promotional item.
Welcome packs It can be a small addition for new employees, training participants or guests.
If the lighter is meant to last and be refilled, choose a model with a valve. The NM-1 has a different job: to be simple, inexpensive and available in larger quantities.
Full-colour UV printing
We print NM-1 lighters using digital UV printing in UV LED technology.
The design goes straight onto the white body in full CMYK.
We can use:
- multi-colour logos,
- gradients,
- tonal transitions,
- shading,
- photographs,
- more elaborate graphics.
No separate plates, moulds or screens are needed. Once the file is prepared, the design goes directly to the press.
The ink is cured with UV light during printing. The finished print handles normal everyday use, contact with water, moisture and light. It needs no extra varnish and no long drying.
UV LED technology also limits how much the printed item heats up while the press runs.
We print on Japanese machines built for precise marking of small surfaces.
Fine detail reproduces very accurately, but with text it is still worth keeping a sensible size. A phone number or a web address should be easy to read without peering at the lighter.
One side or two?
In the calculator you can choose:
- UV printing, one side,
- UV printing, two sides.
One side is usually enough for a logo, a company name and short contact details.
If you want to fit more, you can use both surfaces. One side can carry the logo, the other for example:
- a web address,
- a phone number,
- a slogan,
- a QR code,
- other contact details.
The two-sided version costs more, and you will see the difference in the calculator straight away.
For two-sided printing, prepare two separate files.
Print area 52.0×13.0 mm
The recommended marking area on the NM-1 is:
52.0×13.0 mm
The whole surface is available for artwork, because the body has no extra elements taking up space.
On the two-sided version, the same area is available on the reverse.
The field is long and narrow, so horizontal layouts work best: a logo next to a short slogan, a company name with a web address, or a small block of contact details.
With more information, it is better to use the second side than to squeeze everything onto one surface.
How to prepare the file
Prepare the finished artwork:
- at 1:1 scale,
- as a PDF or TIF file,
- in CMYK,
- at 600 dpi for raster graphics,
- with all text converted to curves,
- within the 52.0×13.0 mm area.
For two-sided printing we need two separate files.
Before sending, it is worth checking every line of text, phone number and address once more. On a run of several hundred pieces, even a small typo becomes expensive.
Free graphic design
No artwork ready? With an order placed with us we will prepare a simple design free of charge.
To do that we need:
- your logo, preferably in vector form,
- a CDR file up to version X6, EPS or AI up to CS6,
- or a TIF or good-quality JPG,
- all the text that is to appear on the lighter.
That can be an address, a phone number, a website, an advertising slogan or a short note about your offer.
We usually prepare the first version within 1-2 working days. Each further round of changes extends the design stage by one working day.
Production starts once you approve the proof.

NM-1 lighters - questions and answers
Need help? Contact us
How does the NM-1 light?
The NM-1 uses classic flint ignition. You roll the knurled wheel with your thumb, it makes a spark and lights the gas. There is no piezo button of the kind used in the EB-15 or SM-3.
Can the NM-1 be refilled with gas?
No. The model has no valve, so once the gas runs out it cannot be refilled. If you need a refillable lighter, choose the EB-15 or SM-3 instead.
How does the NM-1 differ from the EB-15 and SM-3?
In three main ways. First, the NM-1 has flint ignition, while the EB-15 and SM-3 are piezo. Second, the dimensions differ: the NM-1 is 87×20 mm, the EB-15 and SM-3 are 77×22 mm each. Third, the NM-1 has no gas refill valve. Its main advantage is its simple build, which shows in the unit price - the calculator works out the amount for your quantity.
What are the dimensions of the NM-1?
The lighter measures 87×20 mm. It is therefore longer and at the same time narrower than the EB-15 and SM-3, which are 77×22 mm. The 9755206 model measures 80×24 mm.
How large is the print area?
The recommended marking area is 52.0×13.0 mm. The body has no extra elements taking up space, so the whole field can be used for your design. On the two-sided version you have the same area on the reverse as well.
What colours is the NM-1 available in?
The body is white and the head / clip is silver. The print goes onto the white body. If you want a coloured head, look at the EB-15 COLOUR, available in black, red, blue, green and yellow.
What is the minimum order?
The minimum order is 100 pieces. The next steps in the calculator are 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces. The unit price drops as the quantity grows.
Does the print survive being carried in a pocket?
The ink is cured with UV light during printing. The finished print handles normal everyday use and contact with water, moisture and light. It needs no extra varnish and no drying afterwards.
How many colours can I use in the design?
There is no need to limit the design to a few colours. We print in full CMYK, so you can use:
- multi-colour logos,
- gradients,
- tonal transitions,
- shading,
- photographs.
Just bear in mind that the surface is 52.0×13.0 mm, so very elaborate artwork may lose legibility once scaled down.
Can I have printing on both sides?
Yes. In the calculator choose "UV printing, two sides". The two-sided version costs more but gives extra room for information. You can, for example, print the logo on one side and a phone number or web address on the other. In that case we need two separate files for production.
How should the print file be prepared?
Prepare the artwork at 1:1 scale, as a PDF or TIF file and in CMYK. For raster graphics we recommend 600 dpi, and all text should be converted to curves. For two-sided printing, prepare two separate files. Before sending, please also check that all text and contact details are correct.
I do not have a design ready - what then?
We will prepare a simple design free of charge if you place the order with us. It is best to send the logo as a CDR file up to version X6, EPS or AI up to CS6. If you have no vector file, a TIF or good-quality JPG will do. Please also include all the text that is to appear on the lighter. We usually prepare the first version within 1-2 working days, and each further round of changes extends the design stage by one working day.
Is the lighter child-resistant?
Yes. The NM-1 meets the requirements of EN 13869 and ISO 9994:2006 and has a child-resistant mechanism. This applies to every lighter in our range.
When does the lead time start?
We count the lead time from the moment you approve the proof of the production file, not from placing the order itself. The current turnaround is shown in the calculator. If you need the lighters for a specific date, it is best to order in advance or confirm the date with us by e-mail beforehand.
Is there an NM-1 with a bottle opener?
Yes - the NM-1 OPENER. It has the same 87×20 mm body and the same flint ignition, with a bottle opener added. When preparing artwork, bear in mind that the opener takes up part of the surface. The NM-1 OPENER also has no gas refill valve.
