Why we grouped this into one bundle
A CD, a 4P digipak with a slot and a booklet make up the most complete of our disc releases - and one of the most frequently chosen when texts or photographs have to go with the recording. To make the choice easier and the order simpler to put together, we combined the three products into a ready bundle. The calculator works out the value of the whole thing for the quantity you enter and shows a single amount.
The disc - step one
In the left column you choose what the discs are.
- CD with print (no recording) is a printed, blank disc for you to write yourself. With this option every disc can hold different material. It is a good choice for recording studios or medical companies saving test results, among others.
- CD with print and copying - you send us the material and we copy it across the whole run. You receive a finished set.
- Replicated CD is made differently: the data is pressed into the structure of the disc rather than written by a laser. Replication pays off from 500 pieces. We also make smaller replication runs - if you prefer a replicated disc to a copied one, you can choose that in the calculator. At higher quantities replication is cheaper.
For larger runs the calculator will point out when replication works out better and show a clear message about it. You can ignore it and go back to your previous choice with one click.
The 4P digipak with a slot - step two
A 4P digipak is printed cardboard with a plastic tray glued inside. This version also has a slot - a cut the booklet slides into. The booklet then stays with the packaging instead of falling out when it is opened, and the disc is held by a separate element, the tray.
In the bundle we kept the options customers reach for most often:
- gloss or matt foil on the outside of the cardboard - the digipak finish is included in the base price,
- a clear or a black tray,
- inner spine printing - on dark and colourful designs, without it white strips stay visible; on designs like these we recommend choosing it,
- lamination of the finished sets.
Assembly is fixed here: we put both the discs and the booklets into the digipaks, because that is what this bundle is about.
The booklet - step three
You can choose two, four and six page inserts as well as sewn booklets of 8, 12 and 16 pages. The list ends where the slot stops holding the booklet reliably - thicker booklets start slipping out of it.
If you need something beyond this list
The bundle is a narrowed selection from our full range. If you need a thicker booklet, reach for the digipak with a pocket - a glued pocket that takes up to 36 pages. You will find it on the 4P digipak page, and you can order the booklet separately on the Booklets and inserts for digipaks page.
The digipak page also has finishes that are not here: soft touch foil, matt foil with spot UV varnish, a tray for a USB card and the two-disc version.
The same goes for the discs. Medical media, branded HP, Maxell and Verbatim discs, Vinyl CD as well as offset and screen printing are on the CD - print and copying and CD replication pages.
Lead time and quantity
The quantity is shared by all three elements - you order as many discs as packages and booklets. The minimum is set by whichever element has the highest one, and it changes when you switch the disc type. We work out the lead time the same way: we show the longest of the selected elements, because everything ships together.

What is the difference between a copied and a replicated disc?
Replicated discs are made the same way as the discs sold in shops. A replicated disc is more durable than a copied one. It also plays on every kind of equipment - home players, car players and computers. Copied discs may not work on some players or may cause trouble while being read. A replicated disc is made in a mould - the data is pressed into the structure of the disc. Replication starts at a higher quantity and takes longer, but on large orders it is cheaper.
Why is the booklet limited to 16 pages?
That is what the digipak slot holds reliably - thicker booklets start slipping out. If you need more pages, choose the digipak with a pocket on the 4P digipak page and order the booklet separately on the Booklets and inserts for digipaks page.
What is the difference between a slot and a pocket?
A slot is a cut in the cardboard the booklet slides into. A pocket is a glued pocket that fits thicker booklets - up to 36 pages. Both hold the booklet, and the disc is held by the tray.
Why does the calculator switch the disc to replicated at a large quantity?
Because from a certain number of pieces replication is simply cheaper for the same content. We show a message about the change, and you can go back to print with copying with one click. Copying can still make sense if a shorter lead time matters to you.
What is inner spine printing for?
It is printing on the inner part of the fold, together with thin printed strips around the whole package. On dark and colourful designs, without it white strips stay visible along the folds. On light artwork it usually makes no difference. On dark designs we strongly recommend this option.
Can I order this bundle without assembly?
In this bundle assembly is fixed - we put both the discs and the booklets into the digipaks, because that is what this set is about. If you would rather receive the elements separately, order each product on its own page.
What is the minimum quantity?
It is set by whichever element of the bundle has the higher minimum, so it changes when you switch the disc type. The current value is shown in the calculator, under the quantity field.
Can the booklet be ordered separately?
Yes, it has its own product page with the full range of page counts, including versions thicker than those in the bundle: Booklets and inserts for digipaks. The bundle is simply a faster route for the most common orders.
How do I prepare the files?
Next to the calculator, under "Downloads", there are technical specifications and templates for the disc, the digipak and the booklet separately. The list changes with your choices, so you always download what matches your configuration.
