Disc + CD-BOX with covers

Why we grouped this into one bundle

A CD in a standard CD-BOX case with a printed cover or booklet is a publishing classic and one of the most frequently chosen packagings for discs. To make the choice easier and the order simpler to put together, we combined them into a ready bundle. The calculator works out the total value of the whole selected configuration for the quantity you enter and shows a single amount.

The disc - step one

In the left column you choose what the discs are.

  • CD with print (no recording) is a printed, blank disc for you to write yourself. With this option every disc can hold different material. It is a good choice for recording studios or medical companies saving test results, among others.
  • CD with print and copying - you send us the material to be copied and we copy it across the whole run.
  • Replicated CD is made differently: the data is pressed into the structure of the disc rather than written by a laser. Replication pays off from 500 pieces. We also make smaller replication runs (from 100 pieces) - if you prefer a replicated disc to a copied one, you can choose that option in the calculator. At higher quantities replication costs less per disc than copying. A replicated disc will also play in every player.

For larger runs the calculator will point out when replication works out better and show a clear message about it. You can ignore it and go back to your previous choice with one click.

The CD-BOX case and covers - step two

A CD-BOX is a clear plastic case: the disc is held on a hub on the right-hand side of the opened case, the cover slides into the front opening wing, and the inlay under the tray fits into the structure of the case beneath the disc. A type of packaging known from every shop shelf: rigid, it protects the disc better than an envelope and gives room for text across many pages of the cover or booklet. We print the cover together with the discs and put the finished set together before shipping.

For the case you choose the cover:

  • a 4 or 6 page insert is a folded sheet - enough for the cover, a track list and basic information,
  • a sewn booklet from 8 to 28 pages is stitched and works when you want to fit song lyrics, photographs or a description of the band.

There is also lamination of the finished sets - it protects the case in transport and on sale, and lets you put additional information or promotional stickers, or price labels, on the film. You can order the stickers from us as well - we make them in a square and rectangular version and a round one.

If you need something beyond this list

The bundle is a part of our full range. It has no variant with covers supplied by the customer - if you want to order the cases alone and add your own inserts, choose the CD-BOX cases with covers product and the no-covers variant there. It also has no sleeves and wraps for CD-BOX cases - you can order those separately.

A slimmer alternative is the SLIM case with covers - narrower, lighter and cheaper.

The same goes for the discs. For printed discs - Medical media, branded HP, Maxell and Verbatim discs, Vinyl CD as well as offset and screen printing are on the CD - print and copying page. For replicated discs we additionally offer discs with a gold base - you will find them in the CD replication product.

Lead time and quantity

The quantity is shared across the bundle - you order as many discs as cases with covers. We work out the lead time the same way: we show the longest of the selected elements. Bear in mind, though, that if you make changes, send corrected artwork or material for replication or copying, the lead time will be longer.

FAQ

Disc + CD-BOX with covers - questions and answers

Need help? Contact us

What is the difference between a copied and a replicated disc?

Replicated discs are produced the same way as the discs sold in shops. A replicated disc is more durable than a copied one. It also plays on all equipment - home, car and computer. Copied discs may not work in some players or may cause read problems. A replicated disc is made from granulate - the data is pressed into the structure of the disc. Replication starts from a higher quantity and takes longer, but on large orders it is cheaper.

Can I supply my own covers?

Not in this bundle - we always print the covers. If you want to order the cases alone and add your own inserts, choose the CD-BOX cases with covers product and the no-covers variant there.

What is the difference between an insert and a sewn booklet?

An insert is a folded sheet - four or six pages. A sewn booklet has from eight to twenty-eight pages and is stitched, so it keeps the shape of a small book. The more pages, the higher the price per piece.

Why does the calculator switch the disc to replication on large runs?

From a certain number of pieces replication is simply cheaper for the same content. We then show a message about the change, and you can go back to print with copying in one click. Choosing copying can make sense if a shorter lead time matters to you.

What does laminating the cases give me?

It protects the finished set in transport and on sale, and the case reaches the customer sealed. It is a choice in the calculator - without lamination we ship the sets unwrapped. Lamination also lets you put additional stickers and price labels on the film.

What is the difference between a CD-BOX and a SLIM case?

SLIM is narrower and lighter, so cheaper to ship, but it takes a thinner cover and has no inlay under the tray. A CD-BOX has the standard thickness that customers know from shops. SLIM with covers has its own product page: SLIM cases with covers.

What is the minimum quantity?

It is set by whichever element of the bundle has the higher minimum, so it changes when you switch the disc type. You can see the current value in the calculator, under the quantity field.

Is the case transparent?

Yes, the bundle uses a clear case with a clear tray. The cover is visible through the front lid and its reverse through the bottom of the case, while after taking the disc out you see the inner side of the inlay.

How do I prepare the files?

Next to the calculator, in the "Downloads" section, there are technical specifications and templates separately for the disc and for the chosen insert or booklet. The list changes together with your choice of options, so you always download what matches your configuration.
