Presentation folders - product details

Live online pricingNo hidden fees

Presentation folders printed to your own design give company documents, quotations, contracts and materials handed to clients an elegant setting. They are cut on the right die, die-cut and creased, with a ready pocket for A4 documents. A5, A4, medical and photo versions are available, with a 5 or 10 mm spine. We print them on coated 350 gsm stock or Arktika GC1 board at 230 or 300 gsm, and every folder is laminated. You can choose gloss, matte or soft-touch film. The price of the configuration you choose appears straight away in the online calculator.

Presentation folders - a distinguished setting for company documents

A presentation folder keeps documents in order, protects them from creasing and lets you hand a client a whole set of materials in one attractive cover. Instead of several loose sheets, leaflets or forms, you get a set that looks consistent and professional from the start.

A well designed folder is also part of the company identity. The logo, the colours, the artwork and the finish make the offer look considered before the client has read a word of what is inside.

Our folders are not ordinary folded sheets. They are made on ready cutting dies that define the shape of the folder, the pocket, the flaps and the spine. Each one is die-cut, that is cut precisely to the die, and then creased where it folds. That lets the parts be folded evenly, and the finished folder keeps its proper shape and is comfortable in daily use.

Uses for presentation folders

Company folders work wherever you hand a client or partner a set of documents and want them presented in an orderly way.

They are most often used for:

  • commercial quotations and sales materials,
  • contracts, annexes and documents to be signed,
  • welcome packs for new clients,
  • materials for conferences, training courses, trade fairs and business meetings,
  • medical records, test results, reports and CDs,
  • certificates, vouchers and invitations,
  • photographs, prints and commemorative photo sets.

One folder can gather leaflets, service cards, price lists, forms, business cards and the other materials you would otherwise have to hand over separately. The whole thing is easier to store and looks far tidier.

Folder formats - from compact A5 to versatile A4

We make folders on several different cutting dies. That lets you match the version to the kind and amount of material going inside.

Available versions:

  • Medical folder A5 CD - a handy version for medical records, test results, reports, referrals and CDs. It works in clinics, surgeries and diagnostic centres.
  • Medical folder A5 CD PLUS - an enlarged version of the A5 medical folder. It gives more room for documents, instructions and the extra materials handed to a patient.
  • Presentation folder A5 folded, 5 mm spine - a compact folder for shorter quotations, service cards, certificates and smaller sets of material.
  • Presentation folder A5 folded, 10 mm spine - a version with a wider spine, which holds more sheets, brochures or leaflets while keeping the handy A5 format.
  • Folder A5 PHOTO, 5 mm spine - made for presenting photographs, prints, keepsake cards, vouchers and similar material. It suits photographers, photography studios and event companies.
  • Presentation folder A4, 5 mm spine - the versatile format for standard documents, contracts, quotations, presentations and catalogues. A4 is the usual office format, so it suits many trades.

It is worth matching the width of the spine to the amount of material. If a larger set of documents, brochures or leaflets is going inside, a wider spine gives them more room.

Papers and boards

A folder has to keep its form once cut and folded, so we print it on stiff stocks.

Your choices are:

  • Coated 350 gsm - a smooth, stiff paper that shows colours, photographs and artwork well. The versatile choice for classic company, sales and trade fair folders.
  • Arktika GC1 board 230 gsm - the lighter board version. It works well on folders meant for everyday use and on larger runs, where you want an attractive product without too much weight.
  • Arktika GC1 board 300 gsm - more solid and stiffer. It suits more representative work and folders the client is meant to keep and use over a longer period.

You will find all the stocks available in the calculator. When you change the paper, the price of the order is recalculated automatically.

Single or double-sided printing

Folders can be ordered printed on one side or on both.

  • Single-sided - the print is on the outside of the folder. That is the classic answer when what matters most is the cover with your logo, company colours, a photograph, artwork or contact details.
  • Double-sided - lets you use the inside as well. You can put a description of your services, branch details, instructions, a map or extra artwork there, appearing when the folder is opened.

Printing the inside gives more room for information, but it does not have to be elaborate. Sometimes a simple graphic motif or a few key details are enough to make the inside look consistent with the cover.

Lamination - looks and extra stiffness

Every presentation folder is laminated. There is no unfinished version in this category.

The film protects the print in use, improves the look of the surface and makes it stiffer. That matters on a product that is handled, opened, closed and stored with documents many times over.

Your choices are:

  • Gloss lamination - strengthens colours and contrast, giving the artwork a bolder look. It works well with photographs, vivid colours and promotional designs.
  • Matte lamination - gives a more restrained, elegant effect and cuts down reflections. It suits company, medical, legal and more representative folders.
  • Soft-touch lamination - creates a soft surface that is pleasant to the touch. It goes well with folders of a more exclusive character, and with material for the beauty trade, hotels, law firms and companies that care a great deal about their image.

Lamination can be applied to one side or both. You choose the version you want directly in the calculator.

Die-cutting, creasing and the template - why they matter

A folder is a three-dimensional product. What you see while designing as one flat sheet will be cut, creased and folded after printing.

Die-cutting means cutting the folder exactly to the shape of the die, which covers the cover, the pocket, the flaps and the spine.

Creasing marks the places where it folds. Those lines let the material be bent evenly and the finished folder be formed.

For that reason the design should be prepared on the cutting die or the dedicated template for the particular version. You have to allow not only for the final size of the product but also for the cutting and crease lines, the layout of the flaps, the spine and the places where it folds.

An element that sits in a particular place on the flat design can end up on the spine, the pocket or a flap once it is folded. Working on the right template lets you see those relationships at once and lay the whole design out correctly.

File preparation - three options to choose from

When you place the order you choose one of three ways of preparing the file:

  • No file check - for agencies, designers and anyone confident the design has been correctly prepared for printing, cutting, creasing and folding. The file goes straight into production.
  • File check by a designer - we check the technical preparation of the design: format, bleed, safe distances from the cutting line, fit to the die, the layout of the flaps, the crease positions and the quality of the artwork. It is a technical review and does not cover the content or whether the details are correct. That is the customer's responsibility.
  • Simple graphic design - if you have no file ready, send us your logo, the company details, the text, photographs, colours and your basic guidelines. We will prepare a simple design matched to the kind of folder and the right cutting die.

The check by a designer is particularly useful for designs prepared in Canva or other online tools. On folders a common problem is a design that does not fit the die, missing bleed or elements laid out wrongly on the flaps.

Check the price in the calculator

You set the format, the paper, the printing, the film and the file preparation option directly in the online calculator. The price updates when you change the parameters, so you can compare the versions straight away.

Folders round out your other company materials well. You can pair them with the letterhead used for quotations and contracts and with business cards, which fit neatly into the folder's pocket. Together they make a consistent set of materials to hand to a client.

Presentation folders - questions and answers

Need help? Contact us

What are presentation folders for?

Presentation folders are for storing and handing over documents, quotations, contracts, sales materials, information cards, certificates, test results or photographs attractively. They have a die-cut pocket for A4 documents, help keep a whole set of materials in order and give it a more distinguished cover.

Which folder formats are available?

The choices are: medical folder A5 CD, medical folder A5 CD PLUS, presentation folder A5 folded with a 5 mm spine, presentation folder A5 folded with a 10 mm spine, folder A5 PHOTO with a 5 mm spine, and presentation folder A4 with a 5 mm spine. You will find all the versions in the calculator.

How does an A5 folder differ from an A4 one?

The A5 folder is smaller and more compact. It works well with shorter documents, information cards, test results, photographs or vouchers. A4 is the standard format for quotations, contracts, presentations and other typical company documents.

What does it mean that the folder is die-cut and creased?

Die-cutting means cutting the folder to the die, which defines the shape of the pocket, the flaps, the spine and the other parts. Creasing means preparing the fold lines. They let the parts be bent evenly, and the finished folder keeps its proper form.

Do I have to use a cutting die or a template?

Yes, with folders it is decidedly best to work on the dedicated cutting die or template for the version you chose. The design has to allow for the cutting and crease lines, the flaps, the spine and the way the folder is finally folded.

When should I choose a 5 mm spine and when a 10 mm one?

A 5 mm spine works well with a small or medium set of materials. The 10 mm version is worth choosing when more sheets, brochures, leaflets or forms are going into the folder. A wider spine gives a thicker set more room.

What is the A5 PHOTO folder for?

The A5 PHOTO folder with a 5 mm spine is made for presenting photographs, prints, keepsake cards, vouchers and certificates attractively. It works for photographers, photography studios, schools, nurseries and event companies.

Which paper should I choose for presentation folders?

Coated 350 gsm and Arktika GC1 board at 230 gsm and 300 gsm are available. Coated 350 gsm is the versatile version for classic company folders. Arktika GC1 230 gsm is lighter, while Arktika GC1 300 gsm gives a more solid, distinguished result.

How do the Arktika GC1 230 gsm and 300 gsm boards differ?

Arktika GC1 230 gsm is lighter and works well on larger runs and folders meant for everyday use. Arktika GC1 300 gsm is stiffer and feels more solid, so it suits more representative work.

Can folders be printed on both sides?

Yes. Single-sided and double-sided printing are both available. In the single-sided version the print is on the outer surface of the folder. Double-sided printing lets you use the inside as well.

When is double-sided printing worth choosing?

When you want to use the inside of the folder too, for instance for a description of your services, branch details, instructions, a map, a diagram of how you work or an extra graphic element. Opened, the folder then looks more consistent and finished.

Are the folders laminated?

Yes. Every presentation folder is laminated and there is no unfinished version in this category. Gloss, matte and soft-touch film are available. The film protects the print, affects the look of the surface and makes it stiffer.

Which lamination should I choose for a folder?

Gloss film strengthens colours and contrast, so it suits photographs and bolder artwork. Matte gives a calmer, elegant look and cuts down reflections. Soft touch gives a soft, velvety surface and works on more representative folders.

Can the film be applied to one side only?

Yes. Lamination can be applied to one side or both. Each type of film is available in both versions. You choose the option you want in the calculator, matching it to whether one or both sides of the folder are printed.

Which file format is best for print?

A PDF prepared to the technical specification and the cutting die for the kind of folder you chose is best. In selected cases we also accept good quality JPG or PNG files. Photographs should be at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale, and the design prepared in CMYK.
