Plastic Credit Card - data on a card

The Plastic Credit Card (PCC) does not look like a classic drive. Its casing measures 85.5×54 mm - the format of a payment or ID card - so it slides into a wallet or card holder alongside everything else.

That form also gives far more room for artwork than the small body of a traditional USB stick. The front can carry a large graphic, a logo or a photograph; the back can hold contact details, instructions, a QR code or an additional message.

Instead of a small mark on a few centimetres of casing, you get a surface that can be treated almost like a small advertising card - with a USB memory inside.

Where it fits

Banking and private banking, where the card format suits materials for investment and premium clients; fintech and insurance, as part of a client or partner pack carrying instructions, documentation and service presentations; conferences and congresses, where a flat card takes little room in the delegate pack while giving a large area for event branding; advertising agencies and studios, for portfolios, case studies and video; and property developers, for visualisations, floor plans, brochures and project documentation.

Personalisation - a large area for artwork

We mark the PCC with full-colour digital UV printing in CMYK.

The flat surface allows a far richer design than a traditional drive. You can use:

• a logo and full company branding,
• photographs,
• gradients,
• illustrations,
• contact details,
• QR codes,
• artwork covering practically the whole card.

Printing can be done on one side or both. For the two-sided version, prepare two separate designs: front and back.

Capacities

• 16 GB - documents, terms, brochures, presentations and basic company materials,
• 32 GB - larger onboarding packs, photographs and video,
• 64 GB - extensive presentations, reports, archives and larger data sets.

For typical documents and presentations, 16 GB is usually more than enough. If the card is to carry film or a larger library of material, choose 32 or 64 GB.

USB 2.0

The PCC uses a USB 2.0 interface. For documents, presentations, PDF catalogues and other typical company materials that is sufficient. With very large files the transfer will be slower than on models with USB 3.2 gen.1.

If the drive is mainly for handing over presentations and information material, USB 2.0 matches the job well.

Preparing the print file

• a PDF or AI file,
• artwork in CMYK,
• at least 300 dpi for raster elements,
• text converted to curves,
• a separate file for each side when printing both.

With a design covering the full card, pay particular attention to where important text and the logo sit, so they do not end up too close to the edge or to the structural parts of the drive.
