Calendar headers - product details
Calendar headers are the top board sections of wall calendars, usually carrying a logo, company name, photo or the main graphic. They come in two PLANO formats: 350×305 mm and 395×305 mm. Printing is one-sided, on Coated 250 gsm or Arktika 230 gsm. You can add one-sided gloss or matt lamination, or leave the header unlaminated.
Calendar headers
The header is one of the most visible parts of a wall calendar. It sits above the date pad and stays in view all year as the place for a logo, company name, photo, slogan or brand graphic.
The product comes in two PLANO formats:
- 350×305 mm,
- 395×305 mm.
Headers are printed on one side on Coated 250 gsm or Arktika 230 gsm. Depending on the effect you want, the surface can be left unfinished or laminated on one side with gloss or matt film.
Headers like these work well for company, advertising and promotional calendars, and for local series prepared for clients, partners or staff.
Coated 250 gsm or Arktika 230 gsm?
Both materials suit calendar headers, but they behave differently.
- Coated 250 gsm - a smooth paper that reproduces colours, photographs and tonal transitions well. A practical, economical choice for most advertising projects.
- Arktika 230 gsm - a stiffer board that holds its shape better and gives the header a more board-like character.
If photographs, strong colours or elaborate graphics matter in the project, Coated 250 gsm is a very versatile choice. If you mainly want extra rigidity, Arktika 230 gsm is worth considering.
One-sided printing
Headers are printed on one side.
The front can carry, among other things:
- a logo and company name,
- a photo of a product or premises,
- an advertising graphic,
- a promotional slogan,
- contact details,
- a website address,
- a seasonal motif,
- elements of the brand's visual identity.
Because the header stays visible for as long as the calendar is in use, keep the design simple and legible. The logo and the main motif should be easy to spot from a distance too.
Gloss film, matt film or no lamination
The header can be ordered without extra finishing or with one-sided lamination.
The options are:
- no lamination - the plain surface of the printed paper or board,
- gloss film - strengthens colour and contrast, good with photographs and strong, saturated graphics,
- matt film - limits reflections and gives a calmer, more restrained look.
With photography-based projects gloss film can further emphasise colour intensity. Matt works better with sparser designs, a lot of typography, or whenever you want to cut down reflections.
How to prepare artwork for a calendar header
Prepare the artwork exactly in the PLANO format you have chosen.
The options are:
- 350×305 mm,
- 395×305 mm.
Keep the key elements - logo, company name, main text - a safe distance from the edges.
Build the design around one clear motif. The header has a fairly large surface, but filling it with many small pieces of information rarely pays off. A strong photo, a logo and a short message read better than a busy composition of small elements.
If the header is part of a complete company calendar, match its colours and style to the date pads and the rest of the set.
Calendar headers - questions and answers
Need help? Contact us
What are calendar headers?
They are the top board sections of wall calendars.
The header usually carries the company logo, a photo, the brand name or the main advertising motif. Date pads are attached to it, and together they form a finished calendar.
What formats are calendar headers available in?
Two PLANO formats:
- 350×305 mm,
- 395×305 mm.
Match the format to the calendar construction and to the date pads the header will later be joined with.
What papers are headers printed on?
Two substrates:
- Coated 250 gsm,
- Arktika 230 gsm.
Coated 250 gsm has a smooth surface and shows colours and photographs well.
Arktika 230 gsm is more board-like and holds its shape better.
Which paper should I choose for a calendar header?
Coated 250 gsm is a good choice for colourful designs, photographs and standard advertising calendars.
Arktika 230 gsm works when you want a more board-like character and a stiffer header.
Are headers printed on one side or both?
Calendar headers are printed on one side.
The print is on the face that stays visible once the finished calendar is assembled.
What finishing can I choose?
Three options:
- no lamination,
- gloss film on one side,
- matt film on one side.
Gloss film emphasises colour and contrast more strongly; matt limits reflections and gives a calmer look.
Is lamination compulsory?
No.
You can order headers with no extra finishing, or choose gloss or matt film.
What is worth putting on a calendar header?
Most often a logo, company name, photo, promotional slogan, website address or another element of the visual identity.
Because the header stays visible all year, a simple design with one clear main motif works well.
How should the print file be prepared?
Prepare the artwork in the chosen PLANO format, 350×305 mm or 395×305 mm, following the requirements for print-ready files.
Move key texts and the logo away from the edges, and design the whole layout for one-sided printing.
How does a header differ from a complete calendar?
The header is only the top printed section of a wall calendar.
It does not include date pads. You order it when you need the graphic part alone and the date pad will be attached separately.
