UME ECO USB - product details

UME ECO USB - A drive with a casing made from **100% biodegradable material**, a fast USB 3.2 gen.1 interface and capacities from 16 to 256 GB. The natural, warm colour and matt surface set it clearly apart from classic drives in glossy plastic. Personalised with full-colour UV printing. For companies cutting down on conventional plastics in promotional items and in the materials they hand to clients and staff.

Pendrive UME ECO - a different material, the same practical job

The defining feature of the UME ECO is a casing made from biodegradable material. Under the right conditions it can break down, rather than staying in the environment as long as conventional plastic.

The difference is visible at a glance: a natural beige colour, a matt finish and visible flecks of fibre. It does not try to imitate perfectly smooth plastic - that irregularity is part of how the product looks.

Inside is memory with a USB 3.2 gen.1 interface, on a bus supporting up to 5 Gb/s, so copying larger data sets can be considerably faster than over USB 2.0.

Actual speed depends on the capacity, the memory used and the device the drive is connected to.

Where it fits

Brands built around natural products - cosmetics, wellness, slow food, organics - that want the same character in a data carrier; companies running ESG and CSR programmes, looking for an alternative to a conventional plastic casing; environmental and sustainability conferences, where presentations and reports can go on a drive that matches the subject; creative agencies and studios, where the natural, slightly irregular surface stands out in a client set; and welcome packs, for documents, organisational material and training.

UV printing on a natural casing

We mark the UME ECO with full-colour UV printing in CMYK.

The technology handles:

  • multi-colour logos,
  • gradients,
  • tonal transitions,
  • illustrations,
  • photographs, where the source file is good enough.

The ink goes directly onto the casing and is cured with UV light during printing. The finished marking stands up to everyday use and contact with moisture and light.

Bear in mind the surface is not pure white. The natural, warm colour of the casing affects how colours read, particularly very light and delicate ones. The result is usually a little more muted than on white plastic - which suits the character of this model.

Capacities

  • 16 GB - presentations, press kits, documents and basic brand material,
  • 32 GB - larger photo packs, catalogues and multimedia,
  • 64 GB - extensive file sets, video and digital assets,
  • 128 GB - larger material libraries and archives,
  • 256 GB - large data sets and extensive multimedia archives.

For presentations, catalogues and a basic press kit, 16 or 32 GB is usually enough. For film, large photo galleries or an extensive library, choose 64 GB or more.

What exactly is biodegradable?

On the UME ECO, it is the casing.

That has to be separated from the electronics inside. The memory module and the USB connector remain electronic equipment and, at the end of their life, belong at an appropriate electrical waste collection point.

The biodegradability of the material itself also needs the right conditions to break down. So no, the whole drive cannot simply go out with the food waste.

It is above all a way of replacing a conventional plastic casing with a material that behaves differently in environmental terms.

Free graphic design

No print artwork ready? With an order placed with us we prepare a simple design free of charge.

Send your logo, preferably in vector form, along with the text and any other elements that are to appear on the drive.

The first version usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day.

You will receive a proof before production, and only once it is approved do we mark the full run.

FAQ

UME ECO USB - questions and answers

Need help? Contact us

What is the UME ECO casing made of?

The casing is made from 100% biodegradable material. It has a natural, warm colour, a matt surface and visible flecks of fibre, which sets it apart visually from classic smooth plastic casings.

What does biodegradable mean in practice?

The casing material can break down under the right composting conditions. That does not apply to the whole drive: the memory module and the connector are electronic components and should go to a proper electrical waste collection point at the end of their life. It is the casing that is biodegradable, not the electronics inside.

Which capacities are available?

16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 GB. For presentations, lookbooks and press kits, 16-32 GB is usually enough. For larger photo libraries, video and extensive archives, consider 64, 128 or 256 GB.

What are the marking options?

We mark the UME ECO with full-colour UV printing in CMYK, on one or two sides. The technology handles multi-colour logos, gradients and richer designs. Because the casing is a natural beige, colours can look slightly different from how they appear on pure white plastic - usually a little more muted - so it is worth judging the proof before production.
