ANI metal pens - product details
ANI metal pens - A promotional metal pen marked with durable laser engraving. Seven barrel colours to choose from, from white and graphite to bolder shades such as yellow or orange. Engraving can be done on one side or both. Minimum order 100 pieces, and simple artwork is prepared free of charge.
ANI - seven barrel colours and durable engraving
The ANI is designed above all for everyday use and for handing out to customers. We mark it with a laser, and the barrel comes in one of seven colours: blue, green, red, yellow, orange, white or graphite.
The barrel is oxidised aluminium, so the colour is part of the metal surface rather than a layer of ordinary lacquer. The clip and tip are silver, plain and smooth, with no added decoration - one of the most classic models in this group.
The choice of colour is the ANI's strong point. It covers the basic shades that match many company identities, plus two neutral versions in white and graphite. If you want a pen that fits your company materials without much searching, the ANI offers plenty of scope.
Where the ANI works
- Conferences and training - slipped into a folder with a notebook and the materials. It often stays with the participant long after the event.
- Welcome sets - for new staff, visitors or meeting participants, in a colour matched to the rest of the set.
- Reception and service desks - a pen on the counter that frequently leaves with the customer.
- Colour coding - each department, branch or training group can have a different barrel colour while the engraving stays the same.
- Mailings - a small addition to a parcel, an offer or a set of documents that need signing.
Laser engraving - why this method
The laser removes the top layer of the barrel surface and exposes the lighter metal beneath. Nothing is applied on top, so there is no ink to peel or rub away: the mark is made in the barrel itself and lasts as long as the pen.
Engraving is single-colour. The laser exposes metal rather than printing colour, so a multi-colour logo appears in one tone. On darker barrels the contrast is stronger; on white or light ones the effect is quieter and more subtle.
Dimensions and engraving field
The pen is 139 mm long and 10 mm across. The marking area is 60.0×6.0 mm - a narrow strip running along the barrel.
Six millimetres of height does not sound like much, but with a well-arranged design it comfortably takes a company name with a symbol beside it, or a web address. The difficulty comes with a vertical logo - a symbol with the name and an extra line beneath it. Scaled down to 6 mm, each element becomes very small and can lose legibility. In that case our designer usually sets the mark horizontally. You will see it on the proof first, and the artwork goes to production only once you approve it.
If you want both a logo and contact details, consider two-sided engraving: each then gets its own 60 mm field, instead of everything being squeezed onto one side.
Artwork at no extra charge
Have a logo ready? Send it in vector format with text converted to curves. Engraving works on shapes, so that kind of file gives the cleanest and most predictable result.
No artwork ready? We prepare it free of charge with an order placed with us. E-mail your logo and the text that is to appear on the pen - company name, address, phone number, website or a short slogan. We will send a proof for approval; if anything needs changing, tell us and we will correct it before production.
Quantity and lead times
The minimum order is 100 pieces, produced in multiples of 50. The price steps in the calculator are 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces; the unit price falls as the quantity grows. You can enter your own figure and the calculator will round it up to the nearest full 50 and show the price for that quantity.
The lead time appears in the calculator once you choose a configuration, counted from the start of production. If the pens must be ready for a particular date, order early or confirm the date with us by e-mail.
The first version of the design usually comes within 1-2 working days. Each later round of changes extends that stage by another working day. Production starts once you approve the final version.
ANI metal pens - questions and answers
Need help? Contact us
What colours is the ANI available in?
Seven: blue, green, red, yellow, orange, white and graphite. The barrel is oxidised aluminium, so the colour is part of the metal surface rather than a layer of lacquer. The clip and tip are silver.
Does the barrel colour affect the price?
No. The price depends on the quantity and on whether you choose one-sided or two-sided engraving. The colour is yours to pick at no difference in cost.
What are the dimensions of the ANI?
139 mm long and 10 mm across - a full-size pen with a classic barrel diameter.
How large is the engraving field?
60.0×6.0 mm, a narrow strip running along the barrel. With a well-arranged design it takes a company name with a symbol beside it, or a web address. For both a logo and contact details, two-sided engraving gives each its own 60 mm field.
Does the engraving rub off?
No. It is not a print or an added layer: the laser removes part of the surface and exposes the metal beneath, so the mark becomes part of the barrel. Water will not wash it off and everyday carrying will not wear it away.
Can the engraving be in colour?
No. The laser applies no ink - it exposes metal - so the mark is always single-colour, however many colours the original logo uses.
Can the ANI be engraved on both sides?
Yes. Choose "Two-sided engraving" in the calculator. Each side then has its own 60.0×6.0 mm field, which helps when you want to keep a logo and contact details apart. The two-sided version costs more; the difference shows in the calculator.
How many pens do I have to order?
The minimum is 100 pieces, in multiples of 50. The price steps in the calculator are 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces.
I want 130 pieces - is that possible?
Enter 130 in the calculator and it will round the quantity up to 150, because pens are ordered in full multiples of 50. You will immediately see the price for the quantity that actually goes into the order.
How long does production take?
The lead time appears in the calculator once you choose a configuration, and is counted from the start of production. If the pens are needed for a specific date, order early or confirm the date with us by e-mail.
Is there an extra charge for the artwork?
No. With an order placed with us we prepare simple artwork free of charge. E-mail your logo and the text for the pen; we will send a proof for approval and correct anything that needs changing before production.
What file should I send the logo in?
Vector format, with text converted to curves. Engraving works on shapes, so a vector file gives the cleanest and most predictable result. If you only have a raster file or a photo of the logo, send that too - we will see whether it is good enough for a clean engraving. Redrawing a mark into vector form is a separate, paid service quoted individually, because much depends on how complex the logo is. The pen layout itself stays free of charge.
Will I see a proof before production?
Yes. We always send a proof for approval, so you can check the placement and size of the logo and text. Production starts only once you accept it.
Can I order several colours at once?
Yes, but the calculator treats each colour as a separate item. Add them separately with the appropriate quantities, or write to us and we will help set the order up correctly.
What colour is the refill?
Blue as standard. If you need a different colour, mention it with your order - we will check availability for this model and confirm before production.
What is the barrel made of?
Metal, which is why we mark it with a laser. Our metal pens are engraved; plastic models are marked with full-colour UV printing instead.
