Receipt sleeves - product details
Receipt sleeves - A receipt holder is a small, practical sleeve for a receipt, a payment confirmation, a card, a voucher or a small document handed to the customer. Two die-cut versions are available: folded 60×95 mm and glued 70×105 mm. You can choose single or double-sided printing, and every holder is laminated. Gloss, matte or soft-touch film is available. The price of a particular configuration is shown straight away in the calculator.
Handing over a receipt takes a moment, but the way you do it also shapes how the business is seen. Instead of passing the customer a loose printout, you can tuck it into a smart holder with your logo, contact details or a short thank-you for the purchase.
It is a small thing that tidies up the service and means the customer gets everything in one neat form. The holder stays with them along with the receipt, so it can also serve as a small carrier for your contact details, a QR code or an invitation to come back.
Receipt holders work well in hotels, restaurants, cafés, boutiques, beauty and hair salons, clinics, florists, shops, receptions and other service points. Anywhere a customer receives a small document after a purchase or a service and you want to hand it over in an attractive way.
What you can use a receipt holder for
The name points to receipts, but in practice it is a versatile little sleeve for the various things handed to a customer after a purchase or a service.
You can use it as:
- A holder for a receipt or payment confirmation - the document is not passed over loose but in a tidy, attractive form.
- A holder for a card or voucher - it suits discount, loyalty, gift and hotel cards as well as vouchers and gift certificates.
- A small information carrier - you can put your logo, contact details, website address or a QR code leading to Google reviews, an online shop or a loyalty scheme on it.
- Packaging for a small document or a message to the customer - for example a short thank-you for the purchase, practical information or an invitation to visit again.
On a format this small it is best to keep to a few key pieces of information. A logo, contact details and one clear message usually work better than a lot of small text.
Which format to choose
There are two die-cut versions:
- Folded holder 60×95 mm - small, compact and convenient for quick service. It suits handing over a receipt, a card or a small voucher right at the till.
- Glued holder 70×105 mm - a more enclosed, tidier construction. The contents stay in place better, and the larger format also gives you a little more room for the print.
If the holder is mainly for handing over receipts, the folded version is usually plenty.
If you also want to slip in a card, a voucher, a confirmation or another small item, the glued version may be more convenient.
Which paper to choose
We print the holders on three papers and boards. They differ mainly in stiffness and in the character of the finished product.
- Coated 350 gsm - smooth and stiff, it shows colours, photographs and bolder backgrounds very well. A versatile choice for full-colour promotional designs.
- Arktika GC1 230 gsm - a practical, lighter board. It works well for larger runs, where the holder should look attractive but does not have to be very stiff.
- Arktika GC1 300 gsm - thicker and more solid. It suits more representative holders, for instance in hotels, boutiques and beauty salons, and for gift cards and vouchers.
It is worth matching the paper both to the design and to how the holder will be used. A simple receipt sleeve does not always need the thickest board. If the holder is also meant to carry a voucher or a gift card, more stiffness can be a good choice.
Printing and finishing
We print the holders in full CMYK colour, on one side or on both.
Single-sided printing is enough for a simple design with the logo, the company name and one short message on the outside.
Double-sided printing gives you more room. You can use the second side for contact details, social media, the returns policy, a QR code, information about a loyalty scheme or a discount on the next purchase.
Every receipt holder is laminated, and the film is included in the price. You only choose the type of finish:
- Gloss lamination - strengthens colours and contrast. It looks good with bold artwork, photographs and vivid colour.
- Matte lamination - reduces the sheen and gives a calmer, more restrained surface. It also goes well with designs that carry more text.
- Soft-touch lamination - a soft, velvety surface that clearly changes how the finished holder is received. It suits boutiques, hotels, salons and brands that want a more representative finish.
There is one practical point to remember: film makes writing with an ordinary pen and stamping the surface harder.
If you plan to write in a date, a number, a name or a signature by hand later, allow for it at the design stage and test beforehand what writes best on the type of film you chose.
What you can put on the holder
Most often the holder carries a logo, the brand name and the basic contact details, but the small surface can be used in more practical ways too.
You can put on it:
- the website address,
- social media,
- a QR code for Google reviews,
- a QR code leading to an online shop,
- information about a discount on the next purchase,
- an invitation to join a loyalty scheme,
- a short thank-you for the purchase,
- the basic returns or complaints policy,
- the contact details needed after a purchase.
It is best to choose information the customer may actually need after leaving. On a small format, too much content quickly hurts legibility.
File check and graphic design
When you place the order you choose how the file is prepared. The exact surcharges for each option are shown in the calculator.
- No file check - the file goes straight into production. This option is for agencies, designers and anyone confident the design is prepared correctly.
- File check by a designer - we check the technical preparation of the design: format, bleed, image resolution and colours. On holders we also check the folding, creasing and glue lines, how the artwork sits in relation to the cutting die, and whether important elements are not too close to the edges and folds.
- Simple graphic design - if you have no file ready, send us your logo, the text, contact details and your guidelines. We will prepare a simple, clear design matched to the holder format you chose.
The check by a designer is particularly worth choosing if the design was made in Canva, an online generator, an office program or with AI tools. Such files can look good on screen and still need the bleed, CMYK colours, resolution or margins corrected, or adjusting to a particular cutting die.
The check covers the technical side of the design.
We do not check typos, prices, numbers, dates, contact details or whether the QR codes work. The customer is responsible for the content, so it is worth reading it through carefully once more before sending the file.
How to prepare the file for print
A PDF that follows our specification works best. We also accept good quality JPG and PNG files.
Prepare photographs and artwork at 300 dpi at 1:1 scale, and the design in CMYK.
If the background or artwork runs to the edge, add the right amount of bleed.
Keep the logo, text, QR code and other important elements away from the cutting lines, the folds, the glue areas and the space the receipt or other document slides into.
Always use the correct template or cutting die for the model you chose. The design has to allow for the cutting, creasing, folding and glue lines and the flaps, which can be invisible once the holder is folded.
The holder is a small format, so avoid very small text and QR codes that are too small. It is better to leave a little more open space than to try to use every millimetre of the surface.
Our site also has more information on preparing files and on the most common mistakes worth avoiding.
Receipt sleeves - questions and answers
Need help? Contact us
Can I order receipt holders with my own logo?
Yes.
That is one of the most popular versions. You can put your logo, company name, contact details, website address, a QR code, information about a discount or a loyalty scheme and a short thank-you for the purchase on the holder.
Which formats are available?
There are two:
- folded holder 60×95 mm,
- glued holder 70×105 mm.
You choose the version you want directly in the calculator.
How does the folded holder differ from the glued one?
The folded holder at 60×95 mm is smaller, simple and convenient for handing over a receipt or a card quickly.
The glued version at 70×105 mm has a more enclosed construction. The contents stay inside better, and the holder itself is a little larger, giving more room for the design.
Is the holder only for receipts?
No.
You can also use it for a discount, loyalty, gift or hotel card, a voucher, a payment confirmation or another small document handed to a customer.
Which papers are available?
Your choices are:
- Coated 350 gsm,
- Arktika GC1 230 gsm,
- Arktika GC1 300 gsm.
They differ in weight and stiffness, so you can match them to the character of the finished holder.
Which paper should I choose?
Coated 350 gsm works well with colourful designs, photographs and vivid artwork.
Arktika GC1 230 gsm is the practical option for standard holders and larger runs.
Arktika GC1 300 gsm is stiffer and more solid, so it suits vouchers, gift cards and more representative holders.
Are receipt holders laminated?
Yes.
Every holder is laminated, and the film is included in the price.
You can choose gloss, matte or soft-touch film.
Which lamination should I choose?
Gloss film brings out colours and contrast more strongly.
Matte gives a calmer surface and cuts down reflections.
Soft-touch is soft and velvety to the touch, so it works well on more representative designs.
It is best to match the choice to the style of the brand and to the artwork itself.
Can you write or stamp on a laminated holder?
Film makes writing with an ordinary pen and stamping harder.
If you need space for something written by hand, a signature, a date or a stamp, allow for it at the design stage.
It is also worth testing the particular pen or marker on the chosen surface beforehand.
Is double-sided printing available?
Yes.
You can choose single or double-sided printing.
The second side gives you extra space for contact details, the returns policy, a QR code, social media, a loyalty scheme or a discount on the next purchase.
Can I prepare the design in Canva?
Yes, but with a design like that the check by a designer is particularly worth choosing.
Files prepared in Canva, online generators or with AI tools may need the bleed, the cutting die, CMYK colours, resolution and safe margins adjusted.
Do I have to use a template or cutting die?
Yes.
The holder is die-cut, so the design has to match the particular construction.
You have to allow for the cutting, creasing, folding and glue lines and the flaps, which can end up partly or completely covered once it is folded.
Working on the right template is what lets the print sit correctly on the finished product.
Does the file check cover the content?
No.
The check by a designer covers the technical preparation of the design for print.
We do not check typos, prices, numbers, dates, contact details or whether the QR codes work.
The customer is responsible for the content.
Will you prepare a simple holder design?
Yes.
Choose the simple graphic design option and send us your logo, the text, contact details and your guidelines.
We will prepare a clear design matched to the holder format you chose.
Which trades is this a good choice for?
Receipt holders work well in hotels, restaurants, cafés, boutiques, beauty and hair salons, clinics, shops, florists, receptions, medical practices, jewellers and other businesses dealing with individual customers every day.
In practice, anywhere a customer receives a receipt, a voucher, a card or a small document and you want to hand it over in a tidier form.
