FERII - a satin barrel and a mirror-bright engraving

The FERII stands out for the finish of its barrel. A satin coating covers the aluminium, and where the laser removes it, bright metal is exposed. The mark therefore has a distinctive mirror-like look rather than the muted trace typical of engraving on a plain barrel.

The effect is strongest on dark bodies - black, magenta or purple - where the bright engraving contrasts sharply with the matt surface around it.

Nine colours are available: blue, green, red, yellow, orange, white, black, magenta and purple. Two of those - magenta and purple - are rare in promotional pens and make the FERII easy to match to a distinctive brand palette.

Laser engraving

The laser removes the satin coating and exposes the bright metal beneath. Nothing is applied on top, so there is no ink to peel or wear away - the mark is part of the barrel and lasts as long as the pen.

Engraving is single-colour. The shade comes from the exposed metal, not from your artwork, so a multi-colour logo has to be simplified to one tone. On this model the contrast is unusually strong thanks to the satin-to-bright transition.

Dimensions and engraving field

The FERII is 140 mm long and 10 mm across. The engraving field is 55.0×6.0 mm.

On this model, though, it is not only the size of the field that counts but the look of the marking itself. The satin coating on the barrel is removed by the laser, revealing bright metal underneath, so the mark takes on its characteristic mirror finish - most visible on dark barrels such as black, magenta or purple.

For both a logo and contact details, consider two-sided engraving: each then gets its own field instead of sharing one.

Artwork at no extra charge

Have a logo ready? Send it in vector format with text converted to curves. Engraving works on shapes, so a vector file gives the cleanest, most predictable result.

Quantity and lead times

The minimum order is 100 pieces, produced in multiples of 50. The price steps in the calculator are 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000 pieces, and the unit price falls as the quantity grows.

The lead time appears in the calculator once you choose a configuration, counted from the start of production. The first version of the design usually comes within 1-2 working days; each further round of changes adds one working day.
