A business card - the first thing someone holds in their hand
A business card takes up little space, but it is often one of the first printed materials a client is handed. So it is not only the design that counts, but also the thickness of the board, its texture and the finish.
Business card formats
- Standard 85 × 55 mm - the most popular size, fits a wallet and a card holder.
- 90 × 50 mm - slightly longer and narrower, a common choice in Western Europe.
- Folded - opens to 90 × 100 mm, twice as much room for content. The inside holds a QR code, an offer or an appointment schedule.
Paper - the decisive element
The most frequently chosen papers are coated 350 gsm and Invercote 300 gsm. For a premium effect it is worth considering:
- Designer papers (Stardream, Rives Shetland, Dali, Modigliani, Chagall) - a natural texture, fine ribbing or a felt finish, they add softness.
- Stardream Opal 285 gsm - pearlescent, with a subtle sheen. Supplied unlaminated, so the paper itself does the work.
- Eco papers (Kraftliner 300 gsm, Flora, Kazan with grass fibre) - natural fibres visible at the edge.
Finishing
- Soft-touch (velvet) lamination - velvety to the touch, warm, outstanding with dark colours.
- Matt lamination - an elegant, non-reflective finish that protects against scratches.
- Gloss lamination - brings out the colours and adds depth, protects the surface.
Lead time
Typically 2-5 working days from the start of production, depending on the product. The calculator on the product page shows the exact lead time for the options you pick - finishing or personalisation can extend it. Production starts once we have everything: a correct file, your approval of the proof where required, the payment recorded, and for disc replication and duplication the source material delivered.

What is the standard business card format?
85 × 55 mm is the Polish business card size and our default format. There is also 90 × 50 mm - slightly longer and narrower, popular in Western Europe.
Which paper should I choose for a company business card?
The standard is coated 350 gsm or Invercote 300 gsm. For a premium effect we recommend designer papers - Stardream, Rives Shetland, Dali, Modigliani or Chagall - which give a soft feel and a natural elegance.
Can I order laminated business cards?
Yes. Matt, gloss and soft-touch lamination are available. Soft-touch gives a velvety, warm texture - it looks excellent with dark colours and brings out the logo and the key elements of the design.
Can I order cards for a whole team, each with a different name?
Yes - choose the 'personalised business cards' option when ordering and send us a file with the list of names. We print each design as a separate set, and the minimum order counts separately for each one - the calculator gives the figure.
Can I see a sample before the full run?
You can order a paid proof print - it helps when you are choosing lamination or a non-standard paper. If you are torn between papers, email info@promedia.pl and we will explain how each of them comes out in print.
