Flyers - guide

What flyers are and when they work

Flyers remain one of the simplest ways to get a specific piece of information across offline. They work for seasonal promotions, the opening of a new outlet, an event or a direct mail campaign. A low unit cost and a short production route mean the flyer remains the first choice when you need to get a specific offer to a customer at a particular time and place.

At Drukarnia Promedia we print flyers on professional offset and digital presses. For small runs (up to 500 pieces) digital printing is usually quicker and cheaper; on larger quantities offset takes over - the unit price falls and colour stays more stable across a long run.

Flyer formats available

The most popular distribution flyer formats are:

  • A6 (105 × 148 mm) - the pocket format for handing out person to person, ideal for hospitality and local services.
  • DL (99 × 210 mm) - the business envelope format, works well in direct mail and as a ring-binder insert.
  • A5 (148 × 210 mm) - the most frequently ordered advertising format, holds more content than A6.
  • A4 (210 × 297 mm) - chosen for more detailed offers, advertising posters and business presentations.
  • A3 (297 × 420 mm) - a large display surface, often treated as a small poster.
  • Square formats (for example 150 × 150 mm) - they stand out among rectangles, good for lifestyle branding.

How to choose flyer paper

The paper decision affects how a flyer is received more than you might expect. Matt coated 135 gsm is the industry standard: legible at any angle of light, light in weight, economical. Gloss coated 135-170 gsm brings out colour saturation and looks excellent on product photography. Heavier weights (250-350 gsm) turn a flyer into a mini-card - right for invitations, discount cards and vouchers. Choose uncoated offset papers when you want to avoid a slippery surface and expect people to write on the flyer with a pen.

Lead time

Typically 1-5 working days from the start of production, depending on the product. The calculator on the product page shows the exact lead time for the options you pick - finishing or personalisation can extend it. Production starts once we have everything: a correct file, your approval of the proof where required, the payment recorded, and for disc replication and duplication the source material delivered.

FAQ

Flyers - questions and answers

Need help? Contact us

What format should I supply the print file in?

Ideally a PDF at 1:1 scale, with embedded fonts and converted to CMYK. Add 3 mm of bleed on every side and keep a safety margin of at least 5 mm from the trim line.

How much does flyer printing cost?

The price depends on the format, the paper weight and the quantity - the larger the run, the lower the unit price. The calculator gives the exact quote for your configuration.

Which paper should I choose for flyers?

For most uses, matt or gloss coated 135 gsm is enough. Choose heavier papers (170-300 gsm) when the flyer doubles as an invitation or a discount card.

Can I get a paper sample before ordering?

Email info@promedia.pl and tell us which paper you have in mind - we will explain how it behaves in print. On larger or repeat orders we arrange individually whether you can see the paper in person.

What is the minimum order?

25 pieces for classic and folded flyers; the EKO and Prestige versions start at 50. The unit price drops considerably on larger runs - worth checking in the calculator if you are planning to distribute in several waves. The calculator gives the minimum for the version you choose.

How long does an order take?

The calculator shows the lead time for the options you pick. It is counted from the start of production, that is from the moment we have everything: a correct file, your approval of the proof (where one is required) and a recorded payment. Express is available for selected formats and quantities - you will see it there as a separate option.

Can I order flyers with lamination?

Yes, depending on the variant you choose. Matt, gloss and velvet Soft Touch lamination are available - you pick the finish in the calculator.
