Brochures & books - guide

Brochures, catalogues, books

A brochure is a handful, a dozen or several dozen pages in a single publication - as much room as a product catalogue, a sales folder or an event programme needs. We print them saddle-stitched, in full colour, digitally for short runs and by offset for longer ones.

Saddle stitching

Every brochure is finished with saddle stitching - sheets folded in half and stapled through the spine. It is the most economical multi-page binding: the publication opens flat well and the page count is always a multiple of four.

Cover and inside paper

  • Cover: coated 135, 170, 250 or 350 gsm - the heavier the weight, the stiffer and more presentable.
  • Inside: coated 135 or 170 gsm.
  • Economy version: offset 80 gsm on the cover and inside, in A5 and A4.

Lead time

Typically 2-5 working days from the start of production, depending on the product. The calculator on the product page shows the exact lead time for the options you pick - finishing or personalisation can extend it. Production starts once we have everything: a correct file, your approval of the proof where required, the payment recorded, and for disc replication and duplication the source material delivered.

Need help? Contact us

What binding is this?

Saddle stitching - sheets folded in half and stapled through the spine. It is the most economical multi-page binding, opens flat well and suits catalogues, folders and event programmes.

How many pages fit in a saddle-stitched booklet?

Up to 60 pages. Above that the spine starts to gape and the brochure no longer closes properly. In the calculator you can choose from 8 to 32 pages - the range most orders fall into. Need more? Write to info@promedia.pl.

Which paper should I choose for the inside pages?

We print the inside on coated 135 or 170 gsm. Coated 135 gsm is lighter and versatile, 170 gsm presents photographs better. For the cover you can choose coated from 135 up to 350 gsm. In the economy version the whole booklet is printed on offset 80 gsm.

How do brochures differ from economy brochures?

Standard brochures are printed on coated papers, with the cover and inside paper chosen separately. Economy brochures are a simpler, lighter variant on offset 80 gsm, in A5 and A4 - good for manuals and shorter materials.
