Templates and specifications

We provide helper files for our products: a format specification and a template for your design. Below: where to find them, why the list changes with the options you pick, and how to use them.

1. Where to find the files

Templates and specifications live on the product page, inside the calculator - in the Downloads block below the price summary. There is no single shop-wide file list, and that is deliberate: on the product page you always get the files matching what you are configuring.

  1. Open the page of the product you want to order.
  2. Set your options in the calculator - the format above all.
  3. Below the summary you will find the Downloads block with files for that choice.

Each file shows its size and opens in a new tab, so you do not lose the quote you set up.

2. The files follow your choice

The list is not fixed. It is redrawn every time you change the option that decides the shape of the job, so download the files after setting what you actually order.

  • Flat print - leaflets, business cards, posters: the format decides.
  • Folded print - leaflets, menus, invitations: the format before and after folding decides.
  • Tags and hang tags: the shape decides.
  • Printed gadgets: the marking type decides.

The number of items changes too. A format that exists in landscape and portrait has two specifications - one per orientation - plus the template. A square format has one specification and the template.

If you cannot see the Downloads block, we have no ready file for that option - not every product needs one. Write to us and we will tell you how to prepare the artwork for that particular job.

3. What is inside

  • Specification (PDF) - a drawing of the format: dimensions, the trim line and the area where content is safe. Made for viewing and printing out, not for designing in.
  • Template (ZIP) - the same layout as working files: CDR, TIFF, PDF. Open it in your graphics software and design at the ready-made size.
  • Marking area drawing - for gadgets you get a drawing of the area we mark on the object instead of a print template.

If your software does not open CDR files, use the PDF from the same archive.

4. How to use them

  1. Download the files for your option. Set up the calculator first, download second. A file for another format will not fit.
  2. Design at the size from the template. Do not scale the document and do not change proportions - this is the most common reason for corrections.
  3. Follow the lines and notes in the template. They show what gets trimmed off and what has to stay inside. Keep logos, text and faces away from the trim line.
  4. Save the print file. Do not leave the template lines and notes in your artwork - they would print as part of the graphics. The remaining requirements are covered in How to prepare print files.

5. The basic rule

If the way you usually work differs from the template - follow the template. It is prepared for this particular product and the way we finish it.

Artwork that follows the template goes to print without phone calls and corrections. Artwork done another way has to be rebuilt, and that pushes the delivery date.
